Arthur C Clarke has died

Dang. :(

When I was 14 I read nothing but Heinlein, Asimov and Clarke. We lost Robert and Isaac years ago, but it was nice to know Arthur was still around.

A loss. :(

But at least he was.

And the world is better for him having been here.

I was saddened to hear the news.

My favorite author when I was young. And strangely I think that Flight Path a historical fiction was his best story.

:(

I remember...

I remember him whenever I crawl into my waterbed. He invented them, you know. Never got anything for it. Excepting grateful sighs.

I think that's Heinlein you're thinking of.

Clarke came up with the idea of geosynchronous orbits though, so think of him every time you use some sort of satellite communications.

Possibly including this forum.

A sad goodbye and heartfelt thanks to man who has givin us so much.

Few men could have had a fuller and more satisfying life. Sure makes me feel old. He will be missed.

And a little piece of me died along with him.

Childhood's End changed me.

A sane voice in insane times.

As we say in England, 90 is a damn fine innings. Few can claim to have lived as full a life as he has, and what is more, to have seen the stuff of their own dreams become reality within their own lifetimes. He lived a full and worthy life, and died knowing that he was loved around the world. No one can complain about that.

Well said, Uzzy!

Oh well, another one goes. Randi will not be happy about his passing.
