Hamas declares a "victory" in the Gaza Strip

I've never used my ignore button on anyone before, but it's starting to look pretty enticing right now...

Oh! I forgot all about that function. Thank you for reminding me. Now I don't have to watch the troll anymore.

Unfortunately for you, Suni Man is fairly typical of the attitudes of the Palestinians, as can be seen in their official documents, speeches, and media. This is what Israel has to deal with every day, and you cannot wish it away no matter how much you shut your eyes and say to yourself "it's not real, this isn't real".

Go ahead The Fool, negotiate with Sunni Man. Convince him to accept a 2 state solution. Ready? Go!
I just love the way you guys go into frenzies at the first sign of a troll...
Tell you what...I'll convince him to hold hands and sing kumbyah with the israelis 30 seconds after you convince web to allow a Palestinian state....ready? Go!

oh yea....a "state" doesn't count, I mean one where they actually control stuff.

a_u_p, you didn't "prove" that the statement by WildCat was wrong, what you did is bring forward an old speech by a single individual who, since that speech was made, hasn't been able to follow-through with implementing what he said he would:

"I stress our eagerness to honour and implement all our obligations."

Yadda Yadda Yadda.

And settlements are going ahead full speed. That isn't the point, though. The point was that Abbas, who controls the large part of the Palestinian "area", is telling his people he want's a peaceful settlement. Hamas and Abbas are no friends of each other.

Way to dodge the question! Sunni Man has views very close to that of Hamas, and in fact the majority of the Gazans who elected Hamas (in an election with very high turnout) into power on the very platform Sunni Man espouses here.

Like it or not, that is who you expect Israel to negotiate with, and the type of people you expect Israel to allow to "return" to Israel proper.

I see you are just going to close your eyes and pretend that he and his ideological brethren in Palestine don't exist. Israel, unfortunately, doesn't have that option. Nor can they put Hamas on their ignore list.

a_u_p invents his own reality:
And settlements are going ahead full speed.

No, they most certainly aren't.

and then --
That isn't the point, though. The point was that Abbas, who controls the large part of the Palestinian "area", is telling his people he want's a peaceful settlement.

I'm not convinced that he is telling them that.
As you pointed out, at various public events with the world watching, he chooses his words carefully, and it appears that a "peace deal" is the palestinian's goal, but in his own "areas" I don't think his speeches reflect that at all.
The words of Abbas in Arabic indicate a desire to continue the resistance until the "liberation of Jerusalem" is realized and the "return" (of all 11-million palestinians) is allowed. In those ultimate aims, he is indeed a friend of HAMAS.

The main difference between HAMAS and FATAH is the former is not willing to play the diplomatic game at all, while Abbas & co. are following the 1974 Phased Plan of the PLO.
That is why the two groups argue (violently) ---- one prefers to keep to the diplomatic track and obtain the world's legitimacy for their little terrorist State, while the other doesn't give a fig for the Phased Plan and just believes that ongoing full-blooded murderous attacks are the right path.

If you don't believe this above assessment of mine is accurate, then you haven't been paying attention to the various "reconciliation" documents which have been brokered and signed between the factions.
(see: Marwan Barghouti's Hadarim Prison document and the Mecca Agreements)

You are absolutely correct Web

No, they most certainly aren't.

Yes, I remember reading - I think it was last year - about the Israeli pullback of settlements on the West Bank. There was a lot of media attention because some of the settlers were resisting the IDF's attempts to move them out. Come to think of it, that's probably why the West Bank is so (comparatively) quiet.

I'm thinking of the cowardness of the terrorist on thursday who armed himself head to toe with deadly firearms and went to kill unsuspected 15 year olds. You need to be the most miserable kind of coward to do that.
Suny man, Your terrorist friend is one coward piece of ◊◊◊◊. Tell me who your friends are and I'll tell you who you are.

a_u_p, I have just one question on this line of thought (PLO Charter, HAMAS Charter) ---- do you consider the 1974 Phased Plan to still be in effect, or not?

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20071116050121AAnFalM

Is PNA President Abbas legally bound by this document, or not?
Do you agree that the main point of contention between HAMAS and FATAH is merely about the path outlined in this document?

 It's a fact isn't it? Why ask me?

The man who comitted he act was driven by desperation.

He grew up as a prisoner of Zionist Israel. Brutalized and humiliated by the fascist IDF everyday of his life.

He has no job prospects and basically reduced to living in poverty because Israel took his farm land and won't give him a work permit.

He had numerous friend and relatives murdered by the IDF Nazis, and his parent's house was indiscrimitally bombed and destroyed by Israel for no reason.

What would you do for revenge?

I feel sorry for any human being driven to comitt such violent acts.

But it isn't his fault. He is the victim!

The Zionists created this man, and tens of thousands just like him.

Now Israel is reaping the harvest it created by it's sadistic, evil, policys.

You appear to be confusing courage with stupidity.

Your oponent is better trained and better equiped than you are. Going up against them in a head to head clash is not going to end well. Thus you must consider alturnatives. Various forms of ambush tend to be a prefered method.

It's a fact isn't it? Why ask me?

Indeed, why ask you anything?

The Zionists created this man, and tens of thousands just like him.

11-million just like him...

He (Ala Abu Dhaim) has no job prospects and basically reduced to living in poverty because Israel took his farm land and won't give him a work permit.

Outrageous lies.

He was employed, and had no need for a "work permit" (he carried a blue Israeli ID card, not the Orange ID card of the Palestinian Authority) plus, his family lived in the city, and not on a farm.

Obviously the man was upset about something. Correct?

Now he is a Hero and a beloved Martyr to the Palestinian Cause.

These tactics worked in Vietnam by the V.C.

And eventually these same tactics will lead to success for the Palestinian Freedom Fighters.

"Palestine Facts"? It reminds me of Jewwatch, just a remorseless, relentless diatribe of misinformation, with the sole aim of dehumanising a race.

What are you on about now a_u_p? The presentation of the Phased Plan is to be found on many websites. I have gone ahead and changed the source link, if that what's bothering you.

Now, what about the actual content of the document? Will you comment on that?
