Ohio and Texas prediction contest

Ron Paul still getting only 5% or so, clearly the election is rigged!

CNN calls Ohio for Hillary. The black magic worked!

I am going to bed now, cannot stand to watch the reaping of nasty politics that is tonights results.

Hillary just over took in Texas, by a minute margin, but the high populous centers are only reporting 2-5% so far.

I suspect, as above, that she will sqeak it out...I hope I am wrong.

CNN is predicting that Obama will carry Texas. The reason? As you said, TAM, the majority of the uncounted votes are in the more heavily populated areas, and in those precincts the majority of the voters are going for Obama.

I just heard Obama speak in Texas and his prediction is that he will have the same lead in delegates Wednes morning (March 5) that he did Tues morning (March 4).

Bloody Hell, all this Clinton victory has done is guarantee the race won't be over soon.

When do we get results?
Actually, not for several days, if not weeks. The primary/caucas system in Texas, in particular, makes a chinese parade look organized. I predict both sides will claim "victory" and on we go to the next round. Meanwhile, McCain/Republicans get a pass. IOW, the Dems have perfected the art of the circular firing squad.

I for one just want to see the primary process run its course. I certainly wouldn't think of finding any amusement in watching Clinton and Obama try to rake each others' eyes out right up to the convention.

Tee-hee-hee.

I think this is the beginning of the end for the Obama run, as much as I wish it were not true.

The negative machine that is Wolfson/Clinton will now have seven weeks to continue to petrify the american public, and by Pennsylvania it will be a wash.

The only hope, if there is any for Obama, is the delegate count, and the fact that Tom Brokaw was told by an insider that 50 superdelegates are prepared to join Obama over the next few weeks.

You can say that about Hillary too.

Negative attacks work in the short term, however she tried that earlier and it did not work. Not only that, but Obama was caught by surprise.

Hillary won the battle, however she is losing the war.

It's too close to tell who is going to win.

I think TAM and becomingagodo are both right, this marks the end of both campaigns due to the suicidal wrecklessness which drives the Hillary boat along with the shortsightedness of the Democratic voters. John McCain now has a loooong time to build his support and the key to the GOP vault which will fund him to do so. Democrats have shown we are a split party and at least half of it's voters will feel cheated when either one of the two candidates finally get the nomination. You can't win an election with 1/4 of the country. So, I guess in short... 4 more years.

Goddammit, how many more Super Tuesdays can they drag this out?

There's the Democratic Party I remember. One that can take a sure thing, can't lose election and bungle it hopelessly. Dragging this thing out and wailing on each other is just going to do McCain's work for him for the next couple of months.

Grr...

I looked for sites to tell me how many delegates are up for grabs for the Democrats in the contests yet to be held. I found differing numbers, apparently because one count added the so-called super-delegates and the other did not. You can check it out here.

If those numbers are to be believed, without the super-delegates there's 611 delegates remaining, and with them there's 747. Assuming 611 is an accurate number, and given the average 100 delegate Obama advantage reported on POTUS 08 this morning, Hillary would have to win roughtly 406 of the remaining delegates, or around 66 percent, just to pull even.

Does it seem possible for Hillary to overtake Obama?

She can overtake him using the superdelegates only, unless she gets HUGE victories everywhere else.

In short, politics as usual.

As an Non-American, I can only say that if Hillary gets the nod, the DEMs have only themselves to blame, and when she loses to McCain in November, there will be 4 more years, then Obama, I hope, will be back and win.
