Law of Attraction: Superior Woo

I always wondered what would happen if one 'master' (as the OP refers to them) of LOA needed to get somewhere (say for a meeting) in a hurry while another 'master' needed to be at the same place but wanted some road delay in order to complete something for the same meeting. So the first 'master' is saying "no traffic, no traffic, no traffic...." while the other is saying "a lot of traffic, a lot of traffic, a lot of traffic...". They cannot both have their wishes come true but think of the battle of energies going on in the universe as they are both 100% sure their wishes will be fullfilled. Wow, that would make a good science fiction movie.

This is exactly my sports related response to LOA. Suppose you have two basketball teams, both think, nay KNOW that they are going to win. Unfortunately, only one of them can win. So what decides the winners, was the losing team just not as positive? Not as skilled in picturing what they wanted? Not as dedicated? Sorry, nothing in life is really a win-win - in order for me to flourish - somebody else has to give something up. I get the job? Somebody esle doesn't get it. I close the deal -- somebody else doesn't. So what does the LOA say if both conflicting parties were practicing LOA? There is NSTAAFL - and the LOA doesn't provide free food in a universe of limited resources.

As I would expect, you didn't even pay attention to the link I gave you of Dan Dennett's speech.

Seriously, do what people here have been telling you: Read some actual science. Try to educate yourself rather than filling your mind with unsupported bunk from New Age phonies. No one's telling you to kill the fantasy in your life. Just keep it in the fantasy section: read good fantasy literature, but knowing it's fiction. You're just humilliating yourself everytime you give an unsupported explanation by using scientific terms you don't even understand.

Not to mention all the bunkum he/she takes "on faith." Need anything more be said?

Sorry, my time's worth more to me than reading the drivel coming from this person's keyboard.

The energy; energy mass. We already know that the physical universe that we can test is vibrating (or moving) at all times in some fashion, so the idea that there are energies yet to be discovered by science that would also vibrate is not far fetched.

<< SNIP >>

This is in "answer" to my question about what's vibrating.

The predominate thought energy for many people, probably most, is what Abraham refers to as the "what is", i.e., 'the way things are'. Iow, if we are told that our city has a crime rate 10 times that of another city, we take it for granted that, in general, we are 10 times as likely to be a victim of crime in this city as compared to the other one.

We are raised with statistics, facts, science, ect, as if it is essentially set in stone, and can only be altered with physical work. LOA tells us different. LOA states that we can create our own reality, however, through ignorance or conscious choice, we can allow the "what is" to govern our lives.

We can live our lives according to statistics, or we can choose to play by our own odds. We can create a reality where we are not prone to the whims of statistics and contemporary politics. We can create a reality independant of the "what is". We can completely control our destiny.

But there is evidence that the world does not work that way. The vast majority of Americans believe that airplanes are more dangerous than cars; yet every year, many more people die in cars than in airplanes. Statistics based on passenger-miles show that flying is much safer than driving. If the LOA were true there would be many more airplane fatalities than auto fatalities.

There are thousands of people who truly and sincerely believe that psychic surgeons can cure them yet psychic surgery produces no cures. If the LOA were true then regular surgeons would go out of business.

If you've got 10 containers, and I guess the correct one 100 times in a row, would you not at least say that that was on the outter edge of random chance? Would it not intice you to conduct an experiment with an even more statistically unlikely outcome?

You don't have to do it 100 times in a row. To win the Million Dollar Challenge (MDC) you have to do it only seven times in a row. Surely that should be hard for someone who has mastered the LOA.

It's been a fun discussion guys, but I'm worn out taking on all of you at once, so I'm going to select out a few more bits and then bow out for now.

Does anyone else notice that when people discover they can control reality with their thoughts they always wish for something really lame like shopping discounts or bicycles? If I truly believed I had this power I would wish for something cool like a castle. With a moat. And mermaids in the moat. It's not very realistic I know, but hey I control reality with my mind so I can make anything!

You can have whatever you want.........with practice. The airplane wreck analogy I used earlier....insert it here again. Assuming that LOA is real, if you can do that for a few seconds, it would be plausible that it might take some practice to land the big stuff.

If that were true, you should be able to explain LOA without using the terms "positive" and "negative". They are essential to it, and it is in fact a belief system that's dependent on being judgmental.

You can use different labels if you prefer. How about, 'more desirable / less desirable'. Likeable, less likeable.

Are you able to feel positive in a given moment and then tell yourself that you don't feel positive?

When I feel positive, I feel positive. It's what I feel. It's how I feel, and the sensation is more enjoyable than feeling negative.

The judgment, ultimately, is one's own. You personally decide what is positive and negative based on your own emotions and how you feel.

So either this was a "law" that the universe held in reserve (because the universe "knew" humans would evolve??), or it's a relatively new law that arose only with human consciousness.

Surely you're not saying that other animals and inanimate matter are conscious in the same way as humans? Rocks and bacteria can't have thought patterns, positive or negative, regarding health, financial success, and emotional well being, can they?

Yes, consciousness is not limited to humans. New agers believe that the entire universe is conscious, down to every particle.

Well manslaughter then. It is the fault of the person you are implying.

I no longer use the word fault. It comes from a blame based system. A consciousness can choose its' own thoughts, thought patterns, ect. It can choose to allow others to influence it.

No, you can't simply choose not to worry. It is a genetic and situational thing which causes you to be how you are. And if we were to believe the example you used above, your are being screwed over from everyone else's thoughts anyway.

Of course you have a choice as to how to direct your thoughts! We may be wired in a certain direction, but we still have choice. I do it everyday. I see something negative that I do not like, and feel myself drawn by genetics towards a certain feeling, and I stop, and redirect my thoughts to a more positive direction, and positive feelings follow.

It can be somewhat difficult at first if you're not accustomed to doing it, but this is the whole idea behind the generic concept of 'the power of positive thinking', that you do have a choice where to direct your thoughts, and where you direct your thoughts, your feelings will follow.

And this is supposedly an argument that LOA is not judgmental? You've just said it's all based on personal judgment in direct contradiction to your previous statement that I was commenting on.

So again. . .is LOA judgmental or not? How can positive/negative and desirable/undesirable at the same time be a judgment and non-judgmental?

And I still find it despicable that you hold victims 50% responsible for what's happened to them.

So what thought pattern in a rape victim attracts the rape?

This is exactly my sports related response to LOA. Suppose you have two basketball teams, both think, nay KNOW that they are going to win. Unfortunately, only one of them can win. ............/snip

I addressed this in an earlier post. To simplify, both teams are consciously accepting the rules of the game which state there can be only one winner. As far as both teams wanting it at the same magnitude of thought energy, just show me two snowflakes that are alike and you'll win this point.

Each one of these is governed by the same equation. The larger the example, the more variables there will be. I simply can't offer explanations for all of them, not with the time that I have.

And this is supposedly an argument that LOA is not judgmental? You've just said it's all based on personal judgment in direct contradiction to your previous statement that I was commenting on.

I apologize for getting jumbled up some times. I'll clarify. I believe the Law of Attraction to be the explanation of how the most core, creational mechansim of the universe works, a conscious universe.

New agers believe that the universe/god is non-judgemental. The judgements that we make as conscious units, are ours to make.

A simplified analogy: The gas pump pumps gas. It pumps 3 different kinds. It will pump any of the 3 you want, whenever you want it, but you get to decide what is best for your vehicle, and for your own reasons. High Octane might make your care run a little better, but you may decide that you need to save money for now. The choice is yours. The pump, merely pumps.

And I still find it despicable that you hold victims 50% responsible for what's happened to them.

You're missing an important distinction, although you're free to interpret however you want. I do not hold anyone responsible! I have a belief in a core mechanism of the universe that allows for each conscious unit to focus thought energy to create their reality, wanted or unwanted. It is up to each individual to discover LOA, practice it and reap the benefits.

Do you believe there is anyone alive today who is able to conjure up a castle with mermaids in the moat using the power of their mind? Cos I'm pretty sure that would silence the skeptics.

You said this:
So, yes, the Jews, and anyone else who is a victim of crime, is cocreating the experience with the vibrations of their predominate thoughts.

<snip>
The murderers played 50% of the role in the 'eyes' of LOA. It is cocreation. It is a vibrational match, which is the primary function of LOA mechanism.

And you're ignoring my question. What thought patterns or vibrations or whatever in a rape victim attract the rape?

I no longer use the word fault. It comes from a blame based system. A consciousness can choose its' own thoughts, thought patterns, ect. It can choose to allow others to influence it.

What exactly do you mean by "blame based system"? You mean like law?

Yes, I do, essentially, although probably not the mermaids because I don't we think we can create other conscious units, but we might be able to attract them.

Ok, I'm going on hiatus for now. This thread has worn me out.

I will return once I have some evidence in my life that LOA works. I'm sure at least some of you will be curious to hear the story.

You said this:

And you're ignoring my question. What thought patterns or vibrations or whatever in a rape victim attract the rape?

Ok, almost out....

This type of question was already asked and answered a few times before, which is why I skipped it, but, I'll tackle it again.

A rape victim, or any crime victim, would have one, and possibly two basic categories of focused thought, as I understand it.

1) A heavy belief in the statistical "what is" reality, the skeptics' reality. This day in and day out focus of thought on the "what is" exposes you to..........the "what is", meaning if you believe that you are at risk, statistically, then you will be at risk, per the statistics.

2) Many will have an added negative vibration of specific fears. Some women will have an enhanced fear of rape. Some may even think of it constantly.

As I said, we can coreate our reality with others. Nothing comes into our reality that isn't a vibrational match, wanted or unwanted.

If you focus on your fear of rape, and the would be rapist is focused on his desire to rape, there is a match.

What exactly do you mean by "blame based system"? You mean like law?

Essentially. The constant struggle of one group of people to punish others who play outside a contemporary rule set.

There will never be a solution in that type of system. Human nature makes it impossible.

So if you were to kill someone, you couldn't be held accountable because they had it coming?

I no longer use the word fault. It comes from a blame based system. A consciousness can choose its' own thoughts, thought patterns, ect. It can choose to allow others to influence it.

Of course it can. But there is no evidence to say that a negative thought wil attract negative things. As we have firmly established, a random object cannot be either negative or positive. Therefore you would need a hell of a lot more going on to attract whole situations than just a measley negative thought. The concept of LOA is ill thought out, and narrow minded.

Again you are not looking at the big picture. How would a fetus with no concept of positivity and negativity attract positive or negative things.
You have stated that the situations can be imposed upon the fetus from others, this would therefore send the fetus/person into a downward spiral of negative circumstances and negative thinking.
This is an absolute load of rubbish. We know children of positive optimistic people can die, and we know children of negative cynical people can live.
This concept of thoughts creating reality is complete nonsense.

I cannot believe that you can subscribe to a system where you say if your Mother was raped and tortured for hours and then hacked to pieces, it was her own doing because she was not controlling her thoughts well enough.
