Here's a conspiracy theory that we can all enjoy!

The "official story" is that Tupac died September 1996.

This guy claims otherwise:

Tupac Shakur's life supposedly ended in September of 1996, a gangster who died a gangster's death, the victim of a drive-by shooting.

But in the years since, fans and friends of the rapper/actor have kept rumors alive that the star might not have died at the hands of an anonymous gunman that warm September night. It's here, at the supposed end of Shakur's life, where our journey begins.

The first album after Tupac's "death" was released in November of 1996: Makaveli: Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory. The title aroused some curious glances from those who knew Shakur. The first part of the title refers to Niccol Machiavelli, an old-school Italian philosopher who believed the faking one's own death was a sure way to foil his enemies. Machiavelli's two most famous books, Discorsi dopra la prima deca di Tito Livio (Life With Tito) and Il Principe (Ill Communication) were both written well after his death. Some wonder if Tupac's reference wasn't a signal to the world that things were not as they seemed.

This is perhaps mere paranoia, as this album was obviously recorded while Tupac was "still" alive. But then, one year later, R U Still Down? is released in stores (November of '97). This was a full 14 months after the performer's death, and Tupac appeared in three videos in support of the album. When questioned about this, Tupac's manager Robert Bloomenstein said, "Tupac was a forward-thinking man. His performances in those videos were shot more than two months before his unfortunate 'death,' and in no way should indicate that Tupac is still alive."

This would be awesome if it were true, if you ask me.

Tupac IS alive. He shares an apartment with Jim Morrison and Kurt Cobain, they live next to Marylin Monroe, Bigfoot is their landscaper and they have the Loch Ness Monster in their swimming pool.

Tupac is dead? I thought he was hiding out in the Carribean with Elvis and James Dean! (and that Eddie guy from "Eddie and the Cruisers")

I would be much happier if they found that Biggie is still alive. Pac never did it for me. Guy had no flow and a lot of his rhymes reeked of trying way too hard.

Biggie had that natural flow that made for much better music, if you ask me.

next halloween look into a mirror and say "biggie smalls" 3 times and he will appear :D

So, next we'll start having Tupac sightings, after a while his house will become a tourist attraction, and in a decade we'll be seeing the Flying Tupacs in Vegas? Is that what you all are saying?

;):D

Are you just now hearing this? :)

I was in high school when he died and when the Makavelli album came out and this was all very "common knowledge" at the time. I wanted to believe it for years but it's almost surely not true.

He's my generation's Elvis.

Nah....I'm pretty sure that Elvis has all the patents and copyrights on those gigs.....

Oh, these 2pac rumors started almost immediately. At time I wished they really were true, all the Makaveli mystery and posthumous albums. I was a big fan of Lesane Crooks aka Tupac Shakur. And Gridlock'd is a decent movie, don't you tell me otherwise!

Go with Eddie from The Munsters instead and I'm on it. Yea, Eddie Munster.

Thanks to this thread I had to find my precious "All Eyez On Me" which is playing right now

It's just weird what a small place the internet is, that you can run into your own links like that. This whole thing will culminate a year from now when my Mom forwards me an email saying "YOU HAVE TO READ THIS LOL!" and it turns out to be one of my own articles.

Your book has excellent reviews at Amazon, 5 star average. Should I get a copy? :D
