So when does Paul drop out?

And that is why almost all serious candidates hire professional graphics people to do their ads......

What did you just say? STOP THE PRESS! You mean one can spend his money on things to improve his campaign?

It is painfully obvious that Paul has no idea how to effectively spend all that money he raised.
The Giuliani Campaign ,one of the most inept in recent memory, looks like a work of brilliance compared to the incomptence displayed by the Paul Campaign.

Wonder if Paul is going to give back all that money he didn't spend on advertising to his donors, or if he's just gonna pocket it. I'm thinking the latter. Message to Ron Paul supporters: SUCKERS!

You cannot 'pocket' the money first of all.

Second, it's far from over. As the economy continues to tank this election year, my guess is that people will start looking beyond the candidates that are being served up by the M$M and start to look for a REAL leader to get us out of this mess.

That's a pretty bad guess.

Are you seriously thinking that Paul could run as a 3rd party candidate and have a chance? Remember Perot? He ran as a 3rd party candidate in a worse economic slump than today and he did not get a single electoral vote, did he? You expect Paul to do better than that with the evidence that he has hardly made a dent in the primaries?

Not gonna happen this year. Sorry, but welcome to reality.

No but he could transfer it to next Congressional or other campaign. And there are ways of spending it so while it doesn't go directly into a candidates pocket it does help him out.

And you would be guessing wrong, but you're probably used to that by now.

I know you really believe in Ron Paul, but there often comes a time when, no matter how much you want them to, one's dreams do not come true. This is especially true when those dreams are most people's nightmares.

Ron Paul has exactly what to do with Ross Perot?

He believes in Paul, he believes in 9/11 CTs. Just like his fellow 9/11 CTists believe soon people will come their senses and believe along with them, he believes the same about people and Ron Paul.

Hulk, you really need to step back and try to put both feet into that crazy place we call reality.

Holy Flying Spaghetti Monster, the parallels do not occur to you?
Your incredible ability to have tunnel vision when it comes your Great God Paul continues to astonish.

Paul will have to learn to run a LOT more effective campaign then he has done so far to have a ghost of a chance to get half of the number of voters that Perot got in 1992.
The fact is, Paul has reached no voters outside of a small segment many of whom are probably voting for him as a protest candidate then out of any great support for his policies.
And I am not convinced Paul will try a indie run. He will forfeit his house seat if he does so,and that provides a better long term platform for Paul then a suicidal third party run.
Then there is the idea that Bloomberg,if he decides to run, might take the "third party none of the above" niche away from Paul in the general election.
Time to face reality guy.Paul is not going to the White House in 2008.

Don't get me started that Paul,in one of the few smart moves he has made, has stated he thinks that 9/11 conspircy theories are silly, but the Truthers continue to flock to his campaign.

IMO Paul has more similarities to John Anderson.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_B._Anderson

My first presidential election in which I could vote was 1980 and I voted for Anderson.

There is a big difference Anderson and Paul. Anderson at one point had very good poll numbers (25%) and worked his way down to 7% for the election. Paul would have to work his way UP to 7%.

I'd say a Paul 3rd party ticket would look more like Pat Buchanan's 2000 run on the Reform Party ticket than John Anderson. Despite was Paul may say now, in the past he has said his views were more or less congruent with Buchanan's. Anderson was a Rockefeller Republican and most of that crowd has switched over to the "new" Democratic party that realigned to the center during the Clinton years.

I'm actually looking at his site now and to my amazement he's still asking for donations for the upcoming caucuses and primaries in Kansas, Washington and Virginia. So I was wrong about my prediction of him dropping out but one does have to question his sanity at this point in time...he's got nothing to win and nothing to lose. According to his campaign manager (just released):

“Our goal has always been to walk into the national GOP convention with as many delegates as possible,” said Ron Paul 2008 campaign manager Lew Moore. “The number of delegates we won yesterday could very well be the difference in a Convention where no one has a first-ballot majority. With Dr. Paul’s home state of Texas coming up, we feel we can enter the convention with a substantial number of delegates.”

I have no idea what that means, ~60-70 delegates is not going to put him in brokering position.

What kind of brokering is he going to do anyway at that point?

"Sure Ron... give me your votes and the Federal Reserve is toast and back to gold we go!!"

I don't think the LP would nominate him anyway. That he stays to the bitter end to fund his future campaigns and to give a speech at the convention seems to be the play. If there is a brokered convention he seems to forget that he isnt anywhere near likely to be the third wheel. When you have the 4th piece when two out of the top three make a majority... you are useless...

There is a lot of bitterness toward Paul in the LP for having jumped ship to run for the Congress.
Paul trying to be a convention broker is idiotic.Any brokering at that convention will be done by Huckabee and Romney.
But the antics of Paul and his supporters in St.Paul (ironic choice of site, ain't it?) will provide much amusement and comic relief.
Another downside to that is if Paul does fight it out to the convention, his chances of getting a third party run going will be small. If he really wants to do that,he will have to start the process in the late spring at the latest.

Talk about delusional.

It isn't over for RP because it never started in the first place.

See what I mean though, about RP supporters. HH is a perfect example.

I wonder if there is a SINGLE TRUTHER that isn't a RP supporter?

TAM:)

Wouldn't want a winner winning I suppose....

Video: Here

"Ron Paul won all the debates" because of his resonating message of individual liberty and personal responsibility.
You do realize, don't you, that in order to gain the Republican Party presidential nomination he needs to win delegates not debates.
