Pearls of wisdom from an Indigo Child

Regular salary no. Performance related pay yes. How does $1m for proving he can do what he claims sound?

Problems arise when parents fail to realize when they should stop playing along..

What is an indigo Child?

They have difficulty with absolute authority (authority without explanation or choice).

They simply will not do certain things; for example, waiting in line is difficult for them.

They get frustrated with systems that are ritually oriented and don't require creative thought.

They often see better ways of doing things, both at home and in school, which makes them seem like "system busters" (nonconforming to any system).

They seem antisocial unless they are with their own kind. If there are no others of like consciousness around them, they often turn inward, feeling like no other human understands them. School is often extremely difficult for them socially.

They will not respond to "guilt" discipline ("Wait till your father gets home and finds out what you did").

They are not shy in letting you know what they need.

Disregarding the multitude of so-called pyschic healer claims, Gary can at least be proud to be the perfect example of what's going wrong in our educational system.

All kids are potential "indigo kids" - My kids would act that way, too, if they could get away with it.

So instead of admitting that they've raised a spoiled brat or an autistic child, the parents claim that their child is the next evolutionary phase.

Yes, she's completely given up on the Indigo stuff. But only because her "Indigo" child was diagnosed as autistic. She's now claiming she's cured him of autism.
So presumably, that means he's Indigo again......

There is a law here that specifically forbids claiming to treat cancer without a medical qualification. But I don't think there's anything to stop an unqualified person from "treating" any other condition with reiki or any other form of SCAM, so long as they don't claim qualifications they haven't got.

NO kidding!! I have an autistic child, which acts like a spoiled brat... but I'm willing to admit that. Plus, if anyone is going to be special in this house, I'm first! :D

Wiki lists four shades of indigo, but (since the colour is named for the dye), "dye indigo" is the only one that's correctly (IMO) called indigo.

Can we institute a stupid tax? I am thinking of something along the lines of fining people a couple of pounds for saying that science can't explain how a bee flies.

Or worse: "science has proved that bees can't fly, but no one's told the bees so they keep flying". Such people are idiots e.t.c.

It's a tricky one. As Sophia says, there don't seem to be any laws specifically prohibiting claims of curing anything apart from cancer. In fact, it was made much worse recently with new laws allowing quack remedies to claim cures with no evidence whatsoever, whereas before they could only claim to "help". Advertising standards are still fairly effective, so if you complain about an advert it's quite likely to be withdrawn if it makes false claims. Unfortunately, this only applies to certain areas like TV, and I think the internet and flyers are unregulated. The only way for anything to really be done is for someone who has actually been harmed to press charges, and most quacks are careful to avoid any serious illness so this rarely happens.

Yabbut, it's pretty obvious from the point you made that, if you know that the rubes you're ripping off have even less than a clue than yourself, it doesn't matter. Oh and throw in quantum for good measure.
