So, the Romans didn't predate Jesus Christ? So, in 33 years, Christ manages to walk around, teach some lessons, and gain some followers. Meanwhile, in that same 33 years, the Romans were able to create and establish an entire culture and civilization?!?

If that's true, we should be worshipping the Romans, not Jesus.

Some Muslims contend that Islam always existed, just waiting for Mohammed to bring the message. As an application of that doctrine, they say that the Kaaba was physically where it is today "from all eternity." That appears to be a way around the uncomfortable tradition -- fact? -- that Mohammed appropriated a heathen temple for his first holy-house. Or some such madness. The wonders of belief are not mine to question. Damn, this thread makes my head hurt.
