Dennis Kucinich has announced his first pick for running mate, and it is (dramatic pause…..):
Call it the liberal-libertarian ticket, where left meets right and Democrat Dennis Kucinich picks Republican Ron Paul to be his vice president.
Kucinich, the Cleveland congressman running in a longshot bid to become president, suggested it himself today.
“I’m thinking about Ron Paul” as a running mate, Kucinich told a crowd of about 70 supporters at a house party here, one of numerous stops throughout New Hampshire over the Thanksgiving weekend. A Kucinich-Paul administration could bring people together “to balance the energies in this country,” Kucinich said.

Now that's funny, isn't it?

Of course, because Ron Paul is the runaway favorite to win the GOP nomination. As the recent poll here proves, no way can the Paul juggernaut be stopped. Maybe Kucinich will be Paul's VP?

If true I withdraw my support for Dennis Kucinich.

Do we need to balance the "smart but unpopular with the media" candidate with a "insane and unpopular with the media" VP? Really?

Yeah, this might lead me to lean towards Gravel as my main "Somewhat unrealistic candidate who I might like to win" guy, although I might end up voting for Obama in the primaries both for tactical reasons and because there's certain aspects of Kucinich and Gravel's "craziness" which puts me off somewhat. (Although the link does phrase things in very hypothetical terms, with Kucinich just throwing the idea out there.)

Not an absolutely terrible idea, though, since in the insane possibility that Kucinich were to actually win, their radical differences would prevent Paul from doing much damage, and I definitely think that a "liberaltarian" alliance might be a feasible strategy to pick up votes. (Plus, if a "libertaltarian" ticket were to run as a third party, they might be able to avoid the spoiler effect by picking people from both parties simultaneously.)

Heh. Last week it was someone suggesting Barack Obama pick Dick Cheney as his running mate.

All I can conclude is that someone in Hillary's camp is paying someone a lot of money to float these rumors, so that when people look at Hillary again, they say, "Y'know, maybe she's not as dreadful as I thought..."

You don't have to pay Tom Friedman (author of the Barack/Cheney idea) for crazy. He delivers at not cost.

Too bad about that pesky writers strike... no matter what people say, the jokes don't actually write themselves.
I'm not in WGA but write scripts, am in SAG but we won't strike until next June, so what the hell. This ain't crossin' no picket line:

"It was really hot today, wasn't it? How hot was it? It was so hot in Washington DC that Dennis Kucinich and Ron Paul were seen walking in the shadow of Elizabeth Kucinich."

"You've heard of the Kucinich / Paul health care plan, right? Universal abduction care that no one has to pay for. All aliens covered too. If you feel sick, you travel to a desolate farm in Iowa, look skyward and..."

"I heard that Dick Cheney introduced a new H.R. Randy-Newman bill in Congress today called Short People Ain't Got No Right To Live..."

Did anyone see a confirmation for the story or is it a hoax?

It was on the Internet. Of course it's true!

*lol* That's almost as funny as saying: "Of course it's true,
they said it on the White House Press conference"... :D :p

But at least the Internet provides more valid information...
