An article in the Utah Deseret Morning News carries the headline "Study suggests more same-sex couples make Utah home".

Based on a study by the Williams Institute for Sexual Orientation Law and Public Policy at the UCLA School of Law, what the study actually finds is that more gays are forming couples, and more gay couples are telling the truth about being gay.

This in the heart of the Mor[m]on faith!

The Utah reporter drawing conclusions from the study goes on to discuss gay marriage and felt compelled to use quotes around the phrase civil unions.

One person commenting on the story in the Utah press says "I don't agree with the "live and let live" philosophy..."

This story is being handled a bit differently in the gay press. For example at 365gay.com. The study found the greatest increase in gay couples reporting that they are gay couples in red states that have legislated against equality in civil rights.

Will Fundamentalists point to this demographic shift as proof that homosexual activists are gaining ground in their global recruitment drives?

It's evolutionary... all those "lost boys" without wives because their old polygamous uncles get them assigned to them...

What's a young buck to do?

I heard that the internet is really hurting the LDS movement... I imagine it's making lots of cults and secret organizations a little more transparent, and allowing people who would once stay silent to join together and speak out.

I am so ready for the US to becoming the forward thinking progressive country at the forefront of civil rights as it once was... it's been a slow and creepy crawl backwards. I hope the backlash swings wide. Every chink in the "glass house" of "fake family values" delights me immensely.

The religious right has spent so much energy fanning the fear-mongering flames against liberals, homosexuals, and atheists, that it's going to come back and bite them in the butt...

ETA: I saw this link at the 365gay.com A man is being ordered to return license plates that says "poofter". http://365gay.com/Newscon07/11/110507va.htm

Gay couples, meh. I want to know how gay polygamy works.

I live in Utah, and the only gay people I know wont come out publicly because they're afraid people will accuse them of being democrats.

It's all part of the queer-o-sexauls' plans to give us all the gay and make our children practise witchcraft. I saw it on Geraldo. I blame it on the secular humanists.

The conclusion is obvious: Utah makes people gay.

I've been to Utah several times, and I'm gay. So, yeah. They've got teh gay.

One time we were touring the southwest with my Out-Laws. I call them my Out-Laws because it would be illegal for them to be my In-Laws, what with the Sanctity of Bigotry and all that.

We were at the Grand Canyon on our way to a national park in Utah, and my Out-Laws bought me a souvenir shot glass that said "Eat, Drink and be Merry, for Tomorrow You May be in Utah". It seemed like fair warning to me.

So if I never go back to Utah can I get completely heterosexual'd like Ted Haggard? All these gay community organizations are taking up too much of my time.
