Noam Chomsky states that he does not believe in the 9/11 hypothesis in this clip. I tried the search feature to see if this was posted before, but i didn't find anything, so i hope this is not a repeat. Say what you will about the mans politics, he does seem to like the scientific process, and i would consider him more on the skeptical side of the spectrum.

Noam and his take on 9/11 conspiracies has been discussed before, but it doesn't hurt to bring it up again.
 
Yep, in fact some terrific debunking has been done by the very far left in this country including Chomsky, Alexander Cockburn and David Corn. We have not tired of commenting at Screw Loose Change that the Daily Kos bans not only 9-11 conspiracy theory diaries, but anybody who recommends them as well.
 
Noam is pretty far left on the political spectrum, and even he thinks it is illogical to think 9/11 was an inside job.

And of course, there's comments on that page saying "apparently Chomsky likes his tenure at MIT more than the truth." Is that the only comeback truther can come up with now a days? It is getting really, really sad listening to how degraded their arguments have become.

They are apparently unaware what "tenure" is.

It's not as uncommon as you might think. I too am pretty far left on the political spectrum, and I participate in a forum where most of the members are communists, socialists or anarchists of one sort or another. Yes, there are a few CTers there, but pretty much everybody realizes it's a bunch of bull and laughs at them.

The guy is such an institution at MIT that he'd pretty much have to actually murder someone before they'd fire him.

But, as you say, at this point would he really care?
 
I don't agree with his politics at all, but I admire his honesty. It would be easy for him to just take the LIHOP torch and run with it to hurt his political rivals.

The academic standard is that he would have to shoot a nun. During office hours. And it would have to be premediated and intentional; if the gun merely went off during the struggle, then it wouldn't count.

I doubt it would rais emuch of an eyebrow at killing a member of the Catholic Church as it has had an oppresive streak in its history. If Chromsky killed a black gay male while calling a n word and f word, that would be bring a substabial response.

OK, you are right. But it still has to be during office hours, not while he is out clubbing with Sen. Larry Craig.
