The Origami/Richard thread

I emailed your instructions to a friend of mine who is a freshman in college at Texas Tech (Lubbock), who is a JREF scholarship student. She sent this back to me a few minutes later.

I'd LOVE to see a photo of it. I'm thinking about doing a talk on the evolution and world-wide propagation of Paper Pigasus. It's a new life form!

Hmmm... I prefer to think of it as a small pink square of paper realizing its full potential.

LOVE IT!!!

THE PIGS HAVE LANDED!!!!!

Soon one of the pigs will be up for auction on our special TAM scholarship site. It is already signed by Richard and will soon have a Randi autograph (the second one is the control... yes, I freely admit I'm keeping the second one you sent!)

I know I should not push STAPLES, but I found the nice memo cube that you were using for paper on the cruise Richard. They also have a very cool swirly memo pad that is non sticky. I had a hard time finding non post it notes type memo paper.

But now I'm folding

for some reason I have been having the front legs come out white, while the rest of the pig is pink.

Trying again!

But I bought some really cool paper to try with...oh and I give him little hooves because with a bigger sheet of paper he has better balance.

Not bad for my third try and it matches my keyboard cover:

WOW! I am thrilled by this one. Thank you! - I would be very happy for you to add this photo to the Origami Pigasus group on Facebook.
(As for the dog Winston.... woof)

:) I'll be sure relay the compliments to Winston. Of course, those pictures were taken right before Winston tore the whole thing to shreds. So in the end, we ended up with an initially malformed Pigasus who was then brutally murdered. It's a tragic tale, and definitely not for the faint-of-heart.

That is a tragic tale. I'll make sure not to tell the children:
