As a right-leaning columnist in a left-leaning town, I've been the recipient of some rather colorful hate mail myself. And, over the years, I've been collecting and posting it at my Web site. The following is a sampling of these e-mails, presented in their original condition, but with profanity obscured, names omitted, and, in some cases, shortened slightly.

Well, some of the hate mail is what you would expect a right-leaning commentator in San Fran would get. You know... "Commander in Chimp" and all that fun stuff.

But then there's the troofer mail:

i recently read your inane diatribe in which you -- similar to every other other fascist apologist -- derided those with the courage to speak the truth about 9/11, while utterly and miserably failing to address ANY of the FACTS that the 9/11 truth movement has brought to light.

... you are a disgusting, fascist apologist and i relish the knowledge that, not only will you fall on the emabrrassingly wrong side of history soon enough, but that the karma of your egomaniacal ignorance will come back to you sooner than you probably realize.

... you are a stupid, asinine embarassment who doesn't even have the common sense to check the facts and do your homework before writing such a moronic article. get a [rule10] clue.

wow your debunking 911 conspirators is well thought out and a perfect analysis ... unfortunately, most of your descriptions describe people who believe the official story .... and the denial of the jewish involvement screams of guilt ... lets face it 911 was the best scam yet by the zionists

I'm not sure why I wasted my time reading your latest article "When Speech Becomes a Crime". Don't forget the fact that Holocaust 'history' has never been objective. It's been written and propagated by those opposed to the Hilter regime. The fact remains that the German perspective on the issue is rarely (if ever) relayed to the American public.

I'm not a Nazi nor am I a German. I'm not a Holocaust denier either. But, let's have an open mind and study the facts objectively FROM ALL PERSPECTIVES. As an example, it's often quoted that over 7 million Jews died during the Holocaust. I seriously doubt that 7 million Jews existed in Europe at the time. Furthermore, the Europeans wanted to export the Jewish 'problem' from their lands to the Middle East and so Israel was invented.

Know the facts before you write.

I said, "No", And he said , "Topeka". And I said, "How do like working for the railroad?". He was amazed! I am psychic. I guess an internment camp would provide some other alternative employment. :

Those emails are obviously disinfo, to make the truth movement look bad.

The real truthers send well-written and well-thought-out (not to mention correctly-spelled) messages pointing out the rational basis of their disagreements with the columnist's position. Those messages are, presumably, suppressed.

Actually the epicenter of craziness in the Bay Area is the Berkeley and San Francisco area. Once you get into the East Bay (the Concord Area) or the South Bay and Silicon Valley the insanity level decreases.
But there is something about the SF area that invites craziness. Boston is also a very,very,left leaning city but you just do not find the amount of craziness there you do in SF.

So true... It is amazing in my short time here on JREF, I've seen closeted truthers state silly things like "I'm not a truther, but I don't want to discount the truther's viewpoint because they are allowed their opinion..." and then proceed to ignore all evidence showing CT's wrong.
