The Origami/Richard thread

:)

Here it is... wings and all.... what do you think?

I think it's not only swell, but a GREAT color!!!

It was pretty funny. HawaiiBigSis picked me up from the airport Sunday night, and I was (of course) talking about the cruise, and I mentioned Richard Saunders. There was a pause, and she asked why she knew the name. I jokingly said maybe it was the 17 origami books he had written, but then she said she'd been actively looking for one of his books recently.

And to think... I have a actual piece folded by him!!!!!!!!

The origami pigasus is WAY cool, Richard. I'm bummed I didn't have the time to get you to make me a giraffe. :) Next time!

If anyone would like a Pigasus, folded my me, send me an email with your address. I might ask you also send me a couple of US dollar bills to cover postage. I cannot make pink ones for all as I am running out of pink paper.

Here is a link to the diagrams, but it may take some of you a little time to fold it if you are new to origami.

If I send you pink paper could I get one in pink? Although... I might prefer purple, but if I recall your paper selection, I'd have to send that too...

I sent off a little something in return for you Richard.

Pop rocks. You eat them with soda.

Do you now have a surfeit of pink paper? How do I get on your pigasus mailing list, and where do I send my couple dollars to cover postage?

I'd ask for a pigasus, but I already got a 'roo and a peacock. Besides, I'm quite content with my new pigasus pin. I've even had an opportunity to use it in response to a rather unwelcome question.

BTW (and off-topic), would you like me to send you photos of our tattoo exhibition? I didn't want to put those up anywhere without permission...

Absolutely!! I'll PM you my email address.

Thanks Richard! Now I'll have to dig through the unpacked boxes to find my origami paper.
I just checked my library database and I don't seem to have any of your books, I'll have to remedy that.

Ah, those book are out of print. Never fear, new one on the way.

I've heard that his books are quite sought after!

I am eager for the new one!

I've been cutting paper, and have been inspired to buy beginners origami books for two children I know. They wanted video games, BAH! They get instead, PAPER!

I just made a pigasus here at work, that brightened up my day a little. Thanks again Richard.

I'd LOVE to see a photo of it. I'm thinking about doing a talk on the evolution and world-wide propagation of Paper Pigasus. It's a new life form!
