[Merged]Alex Jones Gets Arrested

After watching Alex Jones' "press conference" after the fact, all I can think of is "they call us sheep?!"

The crowd is sucking up to Alex like nothing else.

They also take pride in noting which books and reports they have not read. I take it as a compliment when a group that idolizes ignorance tries to insult me.

HAHA to funny, i wonder who is next? :D i hope they arrest him again tuesday if he uses that bullhorn.

omg this is about the only time i agree with Geraldo. and it was quite fun that he was taking pot shots at them.

clucking morons. they are there to report the news, and all these idiots can do is look like the morons they are.

Having read the little time table of events on the LC site, there are also demonstrations planned for outside CNN, ABC, NBC and whoever else.

The media isn't going to them, so obviously in desperation they are going to the media.

Throw the book at that *****, freaking nutcases.

I wish they would stick the taser up his rear and pull the trigger.

Alex Jones is an idiot, and he is a leader of even dumber idiots.

The gig is up for the Kooks, you stopped being something funny and just became annoying asses.

But, cross the line and expect the worst, you all ain't special, you still haven't proven a damned thing.

Wait, so we had him in our clutches but didn't send him to a FEMA death camp?

All right guys, fess up, who dropped the ball on this?

Do you know how many Alex Joneses there are!? I can't be expected to keep track of all of them. I thought it was one of the Alexi from NYC.

Get off my back.

Besides Pardalis was supposed to update me on his whereabouts, but he kept sending me kitten pictures.

Okay one more chance, otherwise we're busting you down to private.

I'd chew Pardalis out but those kitten pictures are just too darn cute.

Same here. I've been thinking more and more like this lately. Follow him to Geraldo, follow him to jail, follow him back to somewhere else again. Baaaa. Behold the true sheeple.

Saturday night in NYC. Geez, we could muster 10 times that many people for a high school pep rally.

The media isn't going to them, so obviously in desperation they are going to the media.

And this shows they have no awareness of how their "message" has even the slightest chance of persuading people.

Basically, it's a scam, a con trick - it works by bombarding people who don't know the facts with carefully selected information and lies that look as if they could be true. It's about never making definite statements or accusations about what did happen, but rather using insinuation and innuendo to suggest that something bad must be going on.

Loose Change is a good example of this technique - hence its (relative and, I hope, short lived) popularity.

Shouting "911 was an inside job" will not persuade anybody - only people who already agree (4.6%, apparently) will be moved by this. People who don't know anything about you will just think you're nuts.

It's a like a three-card trickster getting bored of fleecing the public and pulling a gun on them instead.

I love the part when Geraldo called them anarchists and the truthers got offended by it. Considering the entire movement is a bunch of cop haters who daily threaten people in the government and have a hard-on against any sort of regulation/authority, that's a perfect word to describe them.

I wouldn't even call Alex Jones a libertarian. A libertarian understands the need and purpose of the government, while an anarchist wants to completely demolish it.

So Anarchist is a very good word to describe these nuts.

I disagree, any anarchist who's thought about it a bit (ie done more than buy a Sex Pistols album) wants a world where organisational structure is devolved to the lowest level - where people are responsible for their own government.* That implies a faith in the abilities of individuals and communities to organise their own affairs without having to create permanent structures to do so, and plan for how to change society so this becomes possible.

I think this is hopelessly Utopian but Alex Jones and the like are nascent fascists, if anything. It's clear from how they talk about dealing with "the traitors" that they want (ie dream about) taking over the governemnt and running it their way, not destroying it. That's in as far as they have any coherent political theory...

I'd say it's fair to describe Alex Jones as a rabble-rouser, but that's not the same thing as an anarchist.

*This is my simplified view of it, but I haven't studied anarchism in detail. This would seem to like a good place to start to do so:
