Oooooooo, bring back the Teapot Dome. Because turning your country into a corrupt ****hole of a joke of a place is just something to be so proud of.Check our history. Both parties have done this for decades.
Congratulations, again.

Well unless you don't call her being accused of drunkenly killing her boyfriend when she was 17 or being a drugged out Stepford wife. I guess she hasn't been vilified. I don't really know what rope they are giving the Republicans though. It appears to me that the Dem Leadership is too busy fending off the attacks from its own left base.
I do however believe the Dems are acting no different than the Gingrich brigade during the Clinton administration. Clinton was actually a pretty good president and he surly was entertaining. The Republicans did what the Dems are about to do here, they let their irrational hatred of Clinton drive them to self-destruction.

I get the impression you are being intentionally dishonest.I get the impression that you wouldn’t like my country no matter what we did.
You allege that I "hate" the USA ONLY because I think rule of law should be paramount everywhere, including in the USA, and because IMHO Libby, having confessed to having committed a serious crime, deserves to do the time for doing the crime? We could feed the entire world and bring about world peace and you would still find a reason to hate us.
You're beginning to crack, aren't you? Now apparently you're driven to defending corruption itself for the sake of your partisan defence of Libby. Way to go.BTW, where do you live? Apparently there is no corruption there.
Congratulations.

Hey Dave,
You seem pretty strong in your wording. Is it simply that Libby lied or are you also upset with Libby's politics (you mention neocon cronies)?
Don't underestimate the "running against Bush" position. Even the Republicans are turning their backs on him. If the Democrats can paint the Republicans as more of the same, and several of them appear to be just that, it could be a very strong position.Republican candidates will separate themselves from Bush and this commutation will be long forgotten in 2008. Dems trying to use it in campaigns will look foolish as they will be appearing to run against Bush, not the GOP candidates.

Hey RandFan
You appear to have nothing to say about senior republicans lying. Is that because you support lies or because you agree with Libby's politics?
I have a real hard time believing the first sentence. All he had to do was "Just Say No." John McCain was electable, Gore need not have won. Bush's inability to communicate was a huge advantage for Gore, who pissed it away. Still puzzled at Dem tactics in 2000.GW did not want to be president. The GOP drafted him in 1999.
My gut says you are right on both accounts.Jeb was thought to be the next Bush in the Whitehouse. I believe if Bush is impeached and removed he will head back to Crawford with nary a regret.
Well said.I have lived under every president since FDR (I was a young child). I have prospered under every one but I have admired very few of them.
Who are those people? Why not point them out instead of using a tu quoque and then defending it by saying it's aimed at those "people who are the most worked up?"I can't speak for the others, but I know alot of people (like myself) who notice things like those past issues not because we feel it justifies the actions, but because we notice that the people who are the most worked up about what's going on now turned a completely blind eye to those said transgressions, even excused them completely. That seems a bit hypocritical.
We need more like you here...and elsewhere.Thank you SezMe. To be fair in return, I'll admit that I'm having a hard time condemning the latest actions myself, meaning I am also a hypocrite.
It's not just blind loyalty to my side however, I really don't know alot about this issue. I have seen and heard people who I respect, on both sides of the issue, and it leaves me a bit unsure of what is right or wrong with regards to it. I feel the same way with regards to global warming. I don't know what to think without some time taken studying the issues more closely and learning about things I don't fully understand, like the science of global warming, and the legalities of this entire fiasco.
One good thing that has come about as the result of me joining this forum is that it's causing me to question my convicitions. That can never be a bad thing.
