Achau Nguyen Challenges! (again)

I think you are barking up a dead tree here charn.

The last I saw of The Athiest was in the dunnies at the racetrack where he was trying to scrape some of the egg of his face.
I ... don't understand what that means? Sure, "egg on your face" means you've been embarrassed, but it still doesn't make sense.

His posting history shows him making lots and lots of posts (last ones a couple of hours ago), so he's still here. Hmmm? Curious :p

Oh well. Thanks for the reply, anyway :)

Forget it chran. Buzz wasn't talking to you; he was baiting TA.

What happened here?

http://www.racechat.co.nz/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6368 says that Achau has withdrawn?

And no mention here ... what? We need information, people!

Sorry, I hadn't seen this post, Darat moved everything else, so I'd unsubscribed from this one.

Not sure what's happening at this stage, I haven't heard back from him. Whether he's proceeding with other challenges, I don't know either. All I got was the withdrawal, further information, nil.

I'll let you know once/if I find out more.

Cool, thanks! :)

Achau is by far the most interesting candidate I've followed on here - would be a shame if he just vanished.

Thanks TA.

It's a shame, unless maybe Mr. Achau just did a controlled test, and finally decided that no, he doesn't have psychic powers.

Now as I write that, I'm chuckling a little, because I doubt it's ever happened, or ever will. But once--just once--wouldn't it be nice? I don't mean nice in a mean, gloating way; not like "ha ha, you were wrong and you were an idiot and we told you so." I mean nice like if a black guy saved your racist uncle from a burning car, and your uncle realized how wrong he had been all along.

Of course, your uncle would probably still hate Mexicans, Jews, and Asians...

charn, charn, charn............absolutly perfect.

I have just stopped laughing sufficiently enough to respond to this.

I couldn't have written it better.
If you ever want to go into comedy give me a call, you would have to be the best "straight man" in the buisness. ..........Ya

I hope Mr. Nguyen hasn't withdrawn. I don't believe he has the powers he claims to have, but I'm cheering for him!

It's chran, not charn.

My appologies... chran, but I was too buisy cracking up to see straight.

But I wouldn't put too much hope in Mr Achau, anyone sensitive enough to do what he claims would be far too sensitive to get involved with this charade.

This is the point that Randi misses.
Most people with "parranormal" abilities are so spooked or sensitive that the last thing that they want, is to be poked and prodded like a zoo exhibit.

Please present evidence for your assertion that the JREF Challenge is a charade.
Especially since Achau Nguyen and CFI West did a preliminary test which seemed to have followed the protocol excellently and yielded the result rationality and logic predicted.

Again, please present evidence.

If one would have a so-called supernatural ability, one could snag up One Million USD in a few hours work by simply doing what one claims to be able to do. It is that simple.

Hey! Gzuz, how are you going old buddy, got that band thing happening?
You and the boys are going to make it big, since you have got the big hair and everything.

Just read through the Achau test, "holy cow", this guy thinks he can telepath words while drinking Red Bull, doing push ups, being filmed, and with a six pack of assorted dudes running around.

Give me a break!!!

In my part of the world there are many people who are very sensitive.
By that I mean they can pick up the unseen.
Usually this is not on demand, it happens when conditions are ideal and normally when they least expect it.

But to do what Achau claimed, under those conditions....... "CHARADE" is the word, old son.

I recommend rereading, buzz lightyear. Among other things, you obviously missed the part where Achau Nguyen agreed that the conditions were ideal; he did so before and after the test.

The charade, Gzuz, is where JREF does their "challenge" test with some poor dude, who is playing without the jack of spades, gets a negative result, and says "hey world another psychic bites the dust".

It allows them push their "challenge" as some sort of persudo science, which is crap.

And The Athiest , old chap, nice to see that you have chucked your two bobs worth in. Although your new "sensitive" approach really sucks, I much preferred the hard nose mutha of old.
The forum is positively boring without you sticking it up some "wet behind the ears" woo.

As they say:

Ka mate, ka mate
Ka ora, ka ora
Tenei te tangata puhuruhuru
Nana i tiki mai whakawhiti te ra
Upane, upane
Upane kaupane
Whiti te ra.

"New sensitive approach"?? :eye-poppi

Where have you been, Buzz? I copped a three-day suspension a fortnight ago for wiping some stuff off my shoes onto the green carpet.

You're confusing ignoring twats with sensitivity.

The Atheist;2587005 Where have you been said:
Aw, have sook, a whole three day suspension and suddenly you are discussing why skeptics are looney tunes, in the mums and dads section,............ phooey.

TA's our new, resident metrosexual, buzz. Man about town. Urbane. Sensitive as flypaper. Doesn't like his wine out of a box. And so on.....

Deal with it. :)

The test is for people who believe they can do the test under the given circumstances. The accept the conditions, they are usually given a chance to do their thing without controls and accept that it wokrs - and they flop when the controls are introduced. Your excuse for them is completely lame.

It allows them push their "challenge" as some sort of persudo science, which is crap.
The JREF challenge is not touted as science. It is simply a challenge for people to do what they claim they can do. And the method to test them is in fact scientific, there is nothing pseudo about it. Please bring evidence that the JREF has made a test that did not conform to scientific standards.
