May 11.. So Cal dinner 'n stuff?

Our meeting got pushed from 11am to 3pm in Santa Monica on Friday the 11th.

This means that.. about 5pm.. I'll be in Santa Monica with Randi. I have NO idea when we'll be able to get to dinner, as I know nothing about LA. Advice???

El Coyote is about 10 miles east of Santa Monica; even with evening traffic, it shouldn't take you more than an hour(!) to get there. My main concern would be: how early do you have to leave dinner to get to Ontario in time?

That depends on which road he's using, like, say, Wilshire... I have heard tales of horror...

I would avoid the 10 as the 405/10 junction is hellish. If you can, I would just pop down Santa Monica to where it connects with take Beverly since the restaurant is on Beverly. We used to take that route from Silver Lake to UCLA. I would say no more than an hour and a half since it tends to take me about an hour and a half to go 10 miles down Sunset on a Friday afternoon. I think 2.5 hours was my longest, but that included an hour from Hilgard/LeConte to Sunset/Beverly Glen (That's about 1-2 miles if anyone's interested.)

And uh, I know Randi's small, but Spec's truck is a two-seater...

Well, I closed my eyes once in LA and woke up in Minnessota once...

Damnit, "in LA" just sounds so wrong. LA? Why did you have to have the acronym LA? It just gets me thinking of all sorts of naughty things...

Oh, and me and 2 TAM/Forumites shall arrive, would that be okay?

Better me, than who used to have it...

Change of plans again.. we now have all of Friday free. Stay tuned... for As the Meetings Shift..

At this point, it's looking like we've got 17 people. Can someone double check my math?

Count me in. I'm not sure how long it'll take me to get there from work on a Friday evening, but I'll make every effort to show up.

Yes, honey... 17, but now 18 counting Steven Howard. I check your math in every other situation in our lives, so I thought I'd pop in here to stay consistent :)

Hey everyone else! Long time, no talk -- I've been in hiding. The little one in my womb sucked all the energy out of me for a while, so my promise to post more ended up turning into a big fat lie. Let me tell you -- my 7pm bedtime was thrilling...especially for my husband. I'm getting my energy back now, just in time to prepare for no sleep once the end of September rolls around. This kid is ALREADY so demanding!

Hope you all are well. Looking forward to saying hi to everyone on Friday!

El Coyote

I'm somewhat of a forum lurker but I've been to two Amazing Meetings and live in Los Angeles so I was wondering if it'd be okay if I tagged along to the El Coyote dinner to meet some fellow west coast skeptics. Count me in if there is room. :)

Claus, will this restaruant utilize some sort of wormhole/dimensional gateway that can enlarge its capacity and thus contain our awesomeness?

I hope I have been counted in the grand total, as I am one of diskovilante's 2 friends - otherwise this is probably to late to RSVP. But I'd like to go!

Here are the final details.

Time: 7pm

Place: El Coyote Mexican Cafe, 7312 Beverly Blvd. Los Angeles, CA

I reserved a part of the back of the restaurant. The reservation is under the name RANDI.

And again, I can't stress this enough: USE THE VALET!

Looking forward to seeing everyone there. :)
