I know the Social Security Death Index has been discussed before but considering the fact that the conspiracy liars continue to use it as some sort of “proof” that 9/11 victims are still alive I thought it deserved it’s own thread.

Again, for those looking to use the Index for research purposes, if the person in question was not receiving Social Security benefits they will not be listed.

According to CNN, sixteen 9/11 victims were Americans over age 65. Except for Mychal Judge all the others are listed in the Social Security Death Index. As a Roman Catholic priest Judge may have never paid into Social Security. In addition, the removal of his body was widely reported.

Patrick J. Driscoll, 70
Peter G. Wallace, 68
John H. Eichler, 69
Patricia Cushing, 69
Max Beilke, 69
Francis Trombino, 69
Timothy O’Sullivan, 68
Ann W. McGovern, 68
Stanley R. Hall, 68
Mary B Trentini, 67
Philip Hayes, 67
Donald A. Peterson, 66
Robert M. Levine, 66
Edward T. Keane, 66
Jerry DeVito, 66
Jesus Cabezas, 66

The smart among the CT crowd will already understand this. The idiots that don't understand, won't understand or simply don't care to understand deserve to drown in their own stupidity.

the fallback argument for the SSDI is the 96% accuracy rate, although CTers never bother to ask if that means 96% of dead people are on the list, or 96% of the people on the list are dead

Well they are a math challenged crowd.....

They also like to use the fact that not all victim's families choose to take a payment from the 9/11 Victim's Compensation Fund as "proof" that they are still alive. They fail to mention that some refused to take the money so they could instead sue:
not only United and American airlines and others in aviation, but also Osama bin Laden, Saudi royal princes, Arab banks, Muslim charities and the governments of Iraq, Iran, Sudan and Afghanistan. In a complaint filed in Miami by Judicial Watch, a government watchdog group, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez is accused of sending "at least $1 million" to al-Qaeda and the Taliban, the deposed ruling group in Afghanistan that was aligned with bin Laden.

There are hundreds of federal lawsuits in the works and as far as I can tell none of them blame 9/11 on the Bush Administration.

so they could instead sue:
That reminds me of a story when i was growing up in Brooklyn. My neighbor's daughter was named Sue and being the nice Jewish boy I was I asked my mom how come her name is a verb.

The SSDI's real accuracy rate is, I would estimate, more like 70% at best. If an under-65 decedent's heirs don't claim the Social Security death benefit, they're not in there. A lot of people don't know about the death benefit; a lot don't care at that point about dealing with government paperwork for a lousy $255. So, for people under 65, SSDI is very hit-and-miss. Even for those over 65, it can take many months to get added.

It could have been worse. You could have been a boy named Sue. Then you'd have two problems.
