OK. It's kind of a joke.

I wasn't sure where to post this, but, since the incident got the attention of even MSNBC, I thought that I could stretch the "Current Events" part of this sub-forum.

This is a clip of something that took place during a recent Red Sox game. What I find more amusing than the incident itself is the reaction of the commentators (Jerry Remi and Don Orsillo).

It's after a commercial break (at roughly 3:20 minutes that I really started to laugh). Don can't even speak he's laughing so hard.

Anyhoo, this didn't seem right for "Humor" or "Sports" after I refreshed my memory on their contents, so here you go...

Since the Red Sox are down 5-2 to the friggin' Yankees (thanks to A-hole's two homeruns - nice job, Schilling), I'm trying to find amusement where I can - not that you all aren't enough.

If you read the Bartman wannabe's lips he says "You wanna pizza me?"

"Well he's the Pepsi fan of the game until he gets thrown out."

What's the fan rules? Are they allowed to reach up but not out?

You can reach out for a dead ball (such as a foul that has hit the ground) but not a live one. This fan didn't get kicked out because it was in the stands, though if they had got out of the way it's likely it could have been caught for an out.

Gee, ya think the pizza thrower had been drinking any beer?

Of course, had it been a European soccer match, there would have been a full-fledged riot. I'll forego any lengthy analysis of why Europeans are such violent people, except to note that given their populations' violent proclivities, the fact that European countries have such strict gun laws is perhaps a Good Thing...

(...takes out grenade, pulls pin, tosses, ducks, runs...)

Thanks Katana from me, too. A nice chuckle at the end of a difficult week of news.

I bet someone could sell that slice on EBAY for a lot of dough.:p

A-Rod's on a tear. Currently holding or very near holding the record for homers in April, IIRC (I saw a piece on it on Sports Center last nite, my wife was watching it as I drifted off).

"A-hole" was amusing, and so was the pizza incident. Nice to see someone passionate about sports. I have to say that I'll root for just about anybody over the Yanks.

Thanks for the reactions.

Steverino, I bet you're right on the ebay thing. :D

Mea culpa: The OP was created after a martini or two.

Having said that, A-Rod still does = A-hole. ;)

Oh, have I mentioned the fact that the Red Sox beat the Yankees again today?

Papelbon's a stud.

I couldn't believe the announcers making fun of the situation. Won't someone think of the pizza?! Being shamefully used as a weapon of hate and anger. I am appalled.

When pizzas are outlawed only outlaws will have pizzas!!

I'll give up my pizza when they pry it from my cold dead fingers!!
