Hi!

Anyone know were I could get a hold of the full version of the NTSB AA77 animation? (And no, I wont buy Pandoras Black box just to get it).

Cheers,
S

Yes I guess I could do that. But I was kind of hoping it floated around the net somewhere...

I don't think it does, unfortunately. :(

If you look at that page, though, an FOIA application isn't so bad. You can do it online, just fill in your name and address, tell them what you want, point out they've given it to someone else already. You might have it in a month & they won't even charge you anything.

Im not sure you can do it online:

FOIA requests must be in writing, and may be submitted via the form below, via fax to (202) 314-6132, or via postal mail to:

However I might just do it anywhoo. If I can get my hands on a fax that is...

I suggest just getting it from the NTSB. Rob has been shown to be dishonest about what he does, so I wouldn't trust anything that is received from him

I have tried to find it on line with out luck also.
Try PFT, they may help you. And the NTSB could help also.

I did a search on PfT, but apparently JDX has turned down others trying to get the file from him, so I dont think that road is open.

I will file a FOI, and if and when I get it, I'll try to make it available. Torrent perhaps.

EDIT FOIa filed, we'll see how it turns out.

Because he's trying to sell it.

Yes, I figured - he did refer to it as "free", but "on the high quality" DVD and said the reason was because the file was "so big" it would steal all their bandwidth. If that was the sole reason, bittorrent would be his solution, but I guess selling DVDs doesnt happen by itself...

i'd actually contact the NTSB about someone using their copyrighted animation on a DVD being sold as well ^_~

I might have mentioned something along those lines in my FOI-request (only to properly identify the animation at hand, of course)

Just wanted to tell you that a nice lady from NTSB called me last night and told me that in reference to my FOI they would be sending the animation to me next week.

So, guess I dont have to buy Pandoras Black Box then.
