Why are you so concerned about me talking about former KKK member and Supreme Court Justice Hugo Black. Its also funny how some troll came out of nowhere (post #402) once I started to talk about Justice Black and his KKK affiliations, and the anti-Catholic allegations about him.
I find it interesting that you would refer to someone else as a troll - pot/kettle thing. I am willing to believe that you truly believe your point, but your responses/shifts, etc. lead ineluctably to trollish suspicions.

I assume trolling behavior is against Randi's rules so I would appreciate if the forum moderator would handle the situation. This person also made a trollish post in post #402.

You apparently don't know what the word "trolling" means. If you did, and it was against the rules, you would've been banned after the second page of this thread.

Second, if you feel like reporting a post for a rules violation, there's a button for that; a little triangular* warning symbol at the bottom left hand corner of a post. Go ahead and click it, and tell the moderators why you're reporting the post.

* That means three-sided.

British colony not English colony.

Given DOCs aptitude for historical accuracy and his unusual approach to truth, I’m surprised he didn’t claim that it was a Canadian colony, ruled by Queen Louis XVI of Germany.

Also, I still want to know why DOV thinks that the 47 decision relating to the “separation of church and state” allowed this forum to be formed when otherwise it would have been impossible.

I believe you misspelled Queen Louis VIX-teenth

Actually, I'd like to see lolurigellar provide some links showing DOC is the same evasive, constantly debunked individual he's proven to be here.

And just in case any lurkers missed it, right after DOC whined about some "troll" harassing him, this forum's admin posted not a comment on his whining, but a point of fact.

Bah, if only the slave holder and former President Thomas Jefferson were here to explain the meaning of the word irony to him, DOC might get it.

Well I looked under the city of Jamestown and there are literally hundreds of entries under for it being the first English settlement... Also there are hundreds of entries for the "13 English Colonies". You must excuse us Americans.

That's because Jamestown was an English settlement.

However, none of the Founding Fathers were born in English colonies; they were born in British colonies. There was this little event called the "Act of Union" (1707) that merged the existing kingdoms of England and Scotland to create the United Kingdom of Great Britain. So from 1707, they were all "British" colonies, in the same way that it's "Istanbul, not Constantinople" ("So if you've a date in Constantinople, she'll be waiting in Istanbul.") For that matter, the city of New Amsterdam, founded at the mouth of the Hudson, is now New York -- and no one has been born in New Amsterdam for centuries, et cetera.

Why? The major problem with this thread is that you're trying to make a historical argument that you're not qualified to make, based on lies, misquotations, untruths, and misrepresentations. This is simply another example to illustrate the fact that you don't know anything about American history. If you would just smile sweetly and admit your ignorance, you'd probably be cut a lot of slack -- and you might even learn something. However, you're coming in to this discussion with a preconceived notion and none of the supporting details you cite are even true..

Why they changed it, I can't say. I guess they liked it better that way.

The above would sound great in an oral debate, but it comes up empty in this forum setting. If there are any new visitors to this forum, just read any 20 of my 104 posts and you'll see how ridiculous the above paragraph is.

Actually, I think just the opposite would be true. You have been provided sourced documentation on a vast number of points that you have simply ignored in favor of your little fantasy world version of US History.

It is your clinging to this fantasy that is ridiculous.

I agree, but unfortunately forum rules prevent me from characterizing you, your behavior, your honesty, and your accuracy in greater detail. "Ignorance" doesn't begin to plumb the depths of your character flaws, but one needs to keep the forum safe for classroom use.

I did , commented a little, noticed you were shot down hard. The para you refer to is not ridiculous, it makes complete sense. Unlike yours.
But, of course, that's just me.

and most of the other posters here.

Coolidge's Inaugural Address

Let's get away from bashing and back to history.

We've read an excerpt from Washington's inaugural address in post #345 and from Lincoln's in post #355. Here is an excerpt from President Coolidge's inaugural -- March 4, 1925

"Here stands its Government, aware of its might but obedient to its conscience. Here it will continue to stand, seeking peace and prosperity, solicitous for the welfare of the wage earner, promoting enterprise, developing waterways and natural resources, attentive to the intuitive counsel of womanhood, encouraging education, desiring the advancement of religion, supporting the cause of justice and honor among the nations. America seeks no earthly empire built on blood and force. No ambition, no temptation, lures her to thought of foreign dominions. The legions which she sends forth are armed, not with the sword, but with the cross. The higher state to which she seeks the allegiance of all mankind is not of human, but of divine origin. She cherishes no purpose save to merit the favor of Almighty God.

Doc the topic of this thread is Jefferson, and by your attempts in the first few pages of this thread, an idea that the founding fathers believed specific things.

Why you're bringing up Lincoln or Coolidge is beyond me. What exactly are you trying to support with that quote?

In the context of this thread it has nothing to do with the topic at hand.

This seems to show that without anything to support the ideas that you've been thoroughly rebuked on, you want to support to a load of sh** that has nothing to do with the topic at hand in the hopes that we will follow your misdirection.

So, really:

What the f*** has a quote from Calvin Coolidge have to do with anything in this thread?

My main reason for bringing Lincoln and Coolidge into the forum is to show that they didn't understand the legal concept of "Separation of Church and State". It took mostly Hugo Black and ACLU lawyer Leo Pfeffer to make America aware of that non-constitutional phrase.

And this has what to do with Jefferson, again?

It took mostly Hugo Black and ACLU lawyer Leo Pfeffer to make America aware of that non-constitutional phrase.

.... which has already been proven incorrect in this thread. Why do you think the phrase was used in 1910 as a book title?

Once again, you've been thoroughly spanked on a historical topic, so you try to shift to another historical topic that you obviously don't understand, and spew a lot of incorrect statements in the hope that they'll fit your preconceived political agenda.
