I'm guessing that you're a young man - a lot younger than I. When I was a young man, like you, I could have made those comments.

At some point in your life, the answers you have now may no longer be sufficient for you. You may want to know with more certainty, what happens after you die. It's natural to have those thoughts and questions as you get old(er). Also, something may happen to shatter the comfortable world, world view and view of yourself that you have now. That's what happened to me.

When the answers you have are no longer good enough for you, you will begin to search for better answers - and hopefully, The Answer (to The Puzzle) of your and human existence. You cannot arrive at that point without God's intervention and help! The transition may be very painful.

Be alert to that transition point in your life. If that something really (apparently) bad happens, don't despair (that's a lot easier said, than done, I know!) but Seek the Answer you are looking for. The seeds of where to find this Answer have already been planted in your mind and heart - whether you know it or not.

You and I and all others were once blind - and some still are. Some of us are brought into a condition where we are enabled (by God's Grace ONLY) to SEE. "I once was blind but now I see" are wonderful and encouraging words. They may not be meaningful for you today, but, God willing, they will become VERY meaningful.

Flaw in your example is as follows.

1. If she does not believe me about something so obvious, I would seriously question her mental wellness/stability.

2. Once she has made the threat to leave and kill herself, especially combined with her lack of good judgement in denying her pregnancy and obsession that it is a tumor, I would be forced to call the police and have her escorted to a psychiatric ward, where she would be committed against her will as a result of being a danger to herself...I have the authority to do so, in any place I practice, for a 24h period, and said person can be committed like this indefinitely if I obtain the signature of a second physician agreeing with my assessment.

Godsend, here is a simple thought experiment for you

Is the earth

• 4.5 billion years old
• Approx 5000 years, the 'biblical' amount of time?

You see, if you accept the first then you obviously believe in scientific evidence, but the same scientific process means that guillibility isn't a factor, there is real evidence that should influence people's beliefs.

If you believe in the latter however, you believe scientific evidence is trumped by opinion, and you can insult all you like.

You only have to look at the official explanation. It is basicly a theory that fire softened the steel. For this to have happenend you needed time to let the fire work on the steel structure.

It is of course a silly explanation, because the time the steel structures were exposed to the fires were way too short.

If/when you get to the point I mentioned as a possibility, there will be others to lead you in the right direction. Like I said, if God wants to get your attention, he'll get it - one way or another Not only that, He can change your mind (literally) without your involvement - that's what happened to me. He changed my mind about a momentous decision while I was asleep! When I woke up, I thought completely differently about that decision - there was no conscious, mental transition process whatsoever. I was more amazed about what had happened to me than anyone else. Could be that my wife was praying for me to make the right decision!

The example was meant to make only 1 point: When it comes to really important decisions (like life or death), it's a good idea to get an expert's opinion (or more) and rely on it or the consensus rather than your own opinion. I intentionally made it an unlikely scenario to emphasize that one point
