Dylan, and money.

A salary is not profit.

3.
1. The return received on an investment after all charges have been paid. Often used in the plural.

v.intr.

2. To derive advantage; benefit: profiting from the other team's mistakes. See synonyms at benefit.

v.tr.

To be beneficial to.

So he profits by having a salary he otherwise would not have had.

But you still have to prove there are profits.

wow, you just demonstrated that you dont know what you're talking about.

ETA: if they are drawing a salary, or being paid by LTW llc, that money being paid to them is the profit made by LTW.

how the hell do you think companies pay their employees?

But you still have to prove there are profits.

By definition the profits are what they live off - there is no distinction between a the partners salaries and the company's profits. The profits are shared out between the partners and form their income.

So, clearly Louder Than Words LLC is making enough money to support Dylan, Korey and Jason. Beyond that, there isn't much we can say, but if the company is making a lot of money then Dylan and co are definitely getting it - there is no limit to how much they'll receive. Obviously, if they fell it is too much, they are free to give some of it away - but it goes to them first.

Wrong. Salaries are a business expense. Profit is what is left after all business expenses are deducted from income.

LTW is Rowe, Bermas, and Avery. Avery, Bermas, and Rowe are LTW.

Why is it so hard for you to understand that they are making money from their fact-challenged 'documentary'?

A minor nitpick: they are called "members" in a LLC rather than "partners".

A LLC is typically very similar to a partnership, though, (but it not a corporation, nor a partnership, nor a sole proprietorship) and enjoys the benefit of limited liability for its individual members as well as the benefit of flow-through taxation that partnerships enjoy, which I took to be your point.

We spent over $30,000 on the weekend below and didn't ask for a dime from people.

Of course they didn't have to ask for a dime; $30,000 buys a hell of a lot of pot.

I suspect some creative accounting going on here. How many DVDs did they distribute again? Actual cost vs. "what-the-DVDs-were worth" -- this is probably a write-off figure that Dylan now enjoys shooting his mouth off about.

Apparently it's enough money to make the great Jason Bermas to quit his job. And that huge plasma TV? I'm sure the family victims of 9/11 just donated that one to Dylan for his incredible research.

And let's not forget the 3 ATVs they own (as seen in their "ego" video). I'm sure that these "ATVs for Trooth" were purchased with pizza delivery money, and not with the profits made with a lie-filled movie sold to gullible suckers.

Pagan, Tonicblue, SkepticalCriticalGuy,... your heros are having fun at your expense (and the expense of others). Don't forget to buy your ticket for Loose Change: Final Cut. Dylan and company are going to need new cars, clothes, and homes if they are going to keep exposing "the Truth".

To be fair, I don't think SCG considers Avery to be a 'hero'.

But I might be wrong...

Why is it, the one time a CT insists on using a precise definition, it's to defend Avery and Co from accusations of profiting from their 9/11 crap?

Now now, it all depends on your definition of 'buil'...er, 'precise'.

:D

Please note, we charge as little as we can for what we sell.

We are spending upwards of five figures a month purely on the free education of others. We send out hundreds of free DVDs a week to 9/11 victims and their family members, schools, libraries, firehouses and rescue workers.

By supporting us, you are supporting the further education of those that either cannot afford it or do not have the means.

Sincerely,

Note to Dylan: I don't know what is going on in the Third i forum, but you need to sort it out.

How in the hell can they spew this crap without a massive stabbing feeling in the back of their heads, especially after Avery has publicly admitted Loose Change got plenty wrong and it was claimed they left the errors in there on purpose?

These kids have no conscience.
