Maybe if you're so easily offended, going anonymously out in public is not for you.

Accused of possibly being a sock. O MY GOD, the pain you must feel.

Whatever the case, someone sincerely coming here to look for answers, but with a slightly different view than most of us share, must get a weird first impression of this board. I personally don't like any tags on anybody, until they are positively proven to be worth them. Until then, welcome all new members who act civilized.

Arkan, I'm sorry but I've reported this thread. I think it's completely wrong to treat new members like this.

Incidentally, I got the exact same treatment at a paranormal discussion board not so long ago. I was newly registered, I was a skeptic, and I was using the same (extremely popular) ISP as a recently banned troll. I had no way of proving my innocence and the members made it clear they weren't going to take me seriously. Eventually I just gave up and stopped posting.

I'd like to think that the JREF forum is better than that.

Treat members like what? We've an individual with a history of creating socks and no reason to think he has/will stop. The poll is completely neutral in wording and has multiple options that are anything but saying someone is a sock puppet. As A W pointed out, I missed a couple of new posters in this forum and I made it clear that write-ins were fine and dandy, thus clarifying that I am not singling out any individual or individuals specifically.

But to suggest that asking the subforum posters their opinion on a current issue that has affected/is affecting the subforum, in a neutral manner is somehow either uncivil, or not in line with critical thinking strikes me as incredibly thin-skinned.

I created a poll asking the community their thoughts, thoughts which have already been brought up on numerous threads; all this poll does is centralize them. I am making no case that any of them are a sock puppet.

I can't predict how other posters would react but I, for one, would likely not put you on ignore, and I can assure you with great confidence that such posting would not get you banned. Bannable offenses/behavior are clearly spelled out in the user agreement and clarification can be obtained in the Forum Management subforum or by PM a mod.

Pdoh never had facts on 9/11. Not one. So go find one fact to support 9/11 truth and you would prove you can not be pdoh.

What really is the point of me, Pdoh hypothetically, comin on here with very moderate, CT tinged views. Stating i am hear to learn, accepting that i am no expert. Then just announcing "OH WAIT! IT WAS AN INSIDE JOB!" .. convincing nobody of anything but how much of an imbecile i am.

No, I asked if we should move the Stundie threads, as they are for purely entertainment and/or chuckle-factor. People put forth counter-arguments as to why they felt it was appropriate for this subforum. Did you see me disagree with those counter-arguments?

I created this poll because I was/am curious about this subforum's posters opinions on an issue that has historically only affected this subforum and involves people that post (almost) exclusively in this subforum.

I don't even begin to understand his motives/reasoning. All I can do is take note of patterns in his behavior.

He believes in real planes, real crashes, real passengers, no demolitions, all that. Those are a whole lot of facts already. I, for one, would fight as well if constantly labeled as someone else. There still is no reason to believe he is one. If sometimes later there is, that's another story.

Hyperviolet. This is just the way it is. That guy has been here so much harrassing, that people need a period to make sure you are not one of his aliases. It takes a little time, not long. If you keep your style and show no signs of outright wooism, people start trusting in you. It's unfortunate it has to be that way, but the situation at the moment seems to be that.

You don't have to argue each comment, if you are not him. Keep up the decent posting and commentary and you'll be fine.
