Probably not as bad as sniffex (who really wants people using questionable explosive detection devices), this new device is sort of funny.

Here's what I'm talking about:
http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/gadgets/...their-demagnetizing-********-again-240864.php

Basically, it's a device that's supposed to get rid of "resolution-sapping magnetic interference" from CDs and DVDs.

As anyone with even a little bit of understanding knows, CDs/DVDs are optical medium and not magnetic medium (like hard drives) and as such, are not really susceptible to magnetic interference.

Still, nice design, reminds me of those early (original series) Star Trek props.

Magnetic interference can affect lasers? I would've believed it for VHS or cassette tapes that use magnetic heads, but not this. I can't believe anyone would ever be this gullible.

After all lead is poisonous and we all "know" pencils have "lead" in them. ;)

No, my de-magnetizers will remove all harmful ergones, including those caused by pencil lead! I have an unpublished study showing that pencils treated with my de-magnetizers had absolutely no lead in them.

They utilize the ancient Chinese principles of reiki, feng shui, chi, and qi dung! How could you possibly deny the wisdom of the Chinese masters?! Are you a racist?! :)

You can't argue with results like these.

"unpublished study" - very good!

Actually, my range of Quantum Pencil Demagnetizers - due in the shops shortly - can be guaranteed to change all lead on peocils to graphite!

So there!

Actually guys - there's no need for argument. If we combine all of our wonderful products, we're onto a winning line here!

With so much stupidity in the world, this time next year we'll all be millionaires! :)

Yeah, it does sort of look like one.

A two thousand nine-hundred dollar George Forman grill. Those had better be the best damn hamburgers ever created. I mean, better than the hamburgers Jesus would create if he was into that sort of thing.
