LC:FC in PREproduction for over 1 year?!

Well Dylan said a few days ago on his forum that "The script is 90% done" but they are still "Shooting for a March release". Go figure.

:D

Just bumping this thread because here we are in March, and nary a sniff of LCFC to be seen, heard or smelt. Any info from the LCF about it?

If anyone over there asks, they'll get banned and the thread will be deleted.
So, only the end of March will bring an answer :D

You don't think Dylan and the boys have been taken for a ride on the Hollywood fantasy limousine do you?
A few lunches, promises of big things, conference calls and true love, only to wake up next morning dumped by the side of the freeway in a torn ballgown with a hangover and ruined make up?

And we all know who runs Hollywood don't we?

Well, Dylan did try and hide the fact that both his executive producers are Jewish from the LC forum. That's pretty much a sure sign that he knows a good part of his base is anti-semitic (he must read the posts, after all).

Regarding the wider question of when... well, Dylan still seemed to be considering adding the BBC News footage in, so it's pretty clear that the film isn't finished yet. According to Howstuffworks you don't start negotiating (via your distributors) with exhibitors until you have a print of the finished film to show them. Then there's the consideration of the best time to schedule a release date. According to this article, Hollywood splits the year into 3 parts:

January - April: oddities, failures, no-hopers, possible cult classics
May - August: summer blockbusters
September - December: Oscar hopefuls and family friendly Christmas films.

I'd expect most documentaries to be released in the January-April window. Certianly, if LC:FC goes past the end of April (which is almost certain) I expect them to delay until September. That way the college kids will be back in school and they won't be competing with the blockbusters. September 11 makes sense for obvious reasons.

I suspect that most of Dylan's footage is going to look like crap when it's transferred to 35mm film and projected onto a decent sized screen. I can;t see many theatres being interested in taking the movie.

Also, I'm pretty sure that all this talk of $20m advertising budgets and aiming for 3,000 screens is rubbish. Here's some details of documentaries that I had heard of (spoiler tagged because it's a long list)

The mental image of Do-Over Dylan Avery waking up the next morning "dumped by the side of the freeway in a torn ballgown with a hangover and ruined make up" actually made me laugh uproariously :D

Thanks a lot, Brainache :p

All part of my service as one of the peanut gallery jokesters. I try to provide laughs for the Ninjas (mostly because I can't research to save my life).
Oh and sorry about your lunch JHunter, but at least I didn't mention blood stains.

From Dylans blog:

Dylan Avery said:
Ladies and gentlemen, this Sunday, we leave for Los Angeles to begin production on Loose Change: Final Cut.

That's all I can say. Stay tuned.

They just begin production???

The kids at LCF will be so dissapointed when they realize how watered down LCFC will be. :D

I thought LC:FC was supposed to be released 9/11/06 and then in 1/7 and again in 2/7 and then be in theaters by 3/7...what the hell is wrong with Dylan the do-over lying woo?

Are you calling him a liar? Be clear now. Just a liar or a filthy lying liar, who lies lies in a lyingingly manner. Whilst lying (on the side).

Hmmm the fact that you would even raise that subject suggests you might have anti-semitic leanings maccy!

It's common knowledge that a lot of Hollywood producers are Jewish. To comment on the obvious only reveals your own prejudice.
