Hi all

I am thinking about going on this adventure... anyone want to share an inside cabin with an Australian?
 
BTW.. Seems the agency have hooked me up with a shipmate... some bloke called Sid Knee or something.

Say.. who else is coming on the trip? Can't wait to meet you all.

I'm booked and waiting on a decision by my last-years roomie if he is sharing with me or if I need to get into the roommate sweepstakes.

Is the price listed for 2 seats, or is that per person? If it's the former, I hope I can talk my mother or someone into going with me. But it seems like they can't take off work 7 days. Also, I'm guessing we'd need a passport for this if we're Americans, because departure is in BC? I can't remember the rules of air travel to other countries anymore. I suppose I will have to do my research.

The prices are per person, but for double occupancy. For a single person with no roomie, traveling steerage (the inside rooms) it's a bit over $2000. Mr Joe Waggs can give you the specifics, but the notes I wrote said $2050 (from my smeared note), and that was with the TAM 15% discount, which is now 10% until end of February.

If you fly to Seattle and take the shuttle bus (or rent a car), you do not need a passport to get into Canada. However, if you had some emergency and needed to fly back, you'd have to leave from either Alaska or Seattle, as you wouldn't be able to fly out of Canada.

You will need something like a CERTIFIED or original birth certificate and government pic ID (driver's license). You might as well get a passport, as after this year you won't be able to travel outside the US without it - anywhere. This is according to the US Customs office. You have plenty of time to get one before September.
 
Mondo - I THINK the recent changes to US passport law now require a passport for air and sea travel for US citizens travelling to Canada. As GG pointed out, its going to be a requirement for a vehicular crossing as well very soon, so damn the bridges and get the durned thing.
