So, no education in biology. No education in life, life sciences, genetics, phylogeny, etc.
So, he can tell you the chemisty result for when you mix ethanol and acetic acid, but he is absolutely not qualified to talk about genes or evolution.
Tell him to come back with some education in biology, microbiolgy, ecology, anatomy, genetics, and botany for good measure. Since he wants to talk about the history of the planet, then a course in geology and archeology would be grand too.
Sheesh, in my two years in college, I covered all that life science (biology, microbiolgy, ecology, zoology, genetics, and botany) and more (including
organic chemistry). Yeah, I'm still not a scientist, but may be more qualified to speak on evolution than that chemistry scientist (having had 2 more years on pertinent education than he).
