Technically, yes.
But the way Edge is using it is popular in common usage. I'm trying to explain to him the difference between what one common usage of "faith" means as opposed to his religious brand of "faith".

As you have repeatedly failed to address the questions posed to you regarding the perfection of the Bible or even of God as you define it, I have reached the conclusion that you are unable to address these difficult issues so you simply ignore them, not just here, but in all of your life as well. This explains to me why you need the sort of faith you defend as a virtue. It allows you to believe whatever you want to believe and ignore evidence that makes you uncomfortable. But the fact remains that one can use this sort of faith to support belief in anything one wishes. I for one would rather know a fraction of the real truth than construct an imaginary "complete truth" that pleases me.
 
The problem is that kurious_kathy doesn't understand that her so-called god and Jesus only live in her mind, and that she has a great need for so-called forgiveness, and until she does that for herself she will be locked into her god delusion and need. She is trying so hard to make up to her so-called god by dragging us into her small world.

To respond to your question, at the very least, can you please describe what a 'soul' is? If a sould exists, then it exists in this universe, correct? I contend that everything in the universe is material in nature, and thus knowable through science. If it is knowable through science, then there is no reason to believe that a robot could not replicate one. However, I'd like to start with your description of a soul, please.

Well in scripture Jesus addressed this attitude of yours as this..."a wicked and perverted generation demands a sign but none will me given, only the sign of Jonah. The resurrection of Christ is evidence enough for me and millions of other believers.

People can try to discredit the documented history of people that saw Jesus before he ascended into heaven. Thousands of people saw him before he ascended and people can't prove that he didn't. Scripture is true and the documentation valid.

And also lets not fail to mention people like me who have had the Lord reveal himself to them. I know my redeemer lives and is with me always, even to the end of the age. Ph wants to make snide remarks that I have made this up, not true. Jesus is with me everyday and I know his word is true. I believe because he made me believe.

I can appreciate your position. You have the evidence of this historical event, the resurrection, and you have the benefit of having Jesus come to you. But put yourself in the position of a thinking person who has not seen the light. If Jesus doesn't reach out to me, and if the evidence of His resurrection is unconvincing, then I'm left out in the cold. I have no ability to will myself to believe something for which I have no sign, no evidence, no reason. I believe my eyes.

I day you forgive yourself, and stop taking the easy way out by dumping it on someone who will not tell you how life realy is, you can drop your alter ego. Stop calling it a sin and learn from your mistakes (things we all do) and move on to the next one.

You can't prove there was a Jesus. You can't prove anyone actually saw a Jesus.

I can write in a book that I saw and ate an entire Unicorn. You can't prove I didn't see and eat an entire Unicorn.

Thing is, if I believe the bible literally, then Lot's daughters truly are worthless because they are just women without a brother. Yeeehaaa! Women SUCK! We are able to discern between the two, Satan has you so he is not going to show you anything but a believer, now that's a different story.
He has you to turn them around.

What I am about to say is the word of God. The word of God is true.

Eleventy billion people saw the FSM descend from the heavens today. After alighting upon the firmament, he poured down the holy marinara upon them, and they were blessed.

Do you believe what I just said is true, Kathy? I'd wager that you don't. And yet, it uses the same circular reasoning that you use when you claim that Christian scripture is true.

I don't actually expect that you'll understand what I just said, or take it to heart. I've seen you demonstrate time and again that you are an enemy of rational discourse, and that is truly sad.

I hope that one day you realize that there is more to life than worshipping a pile of dead trees cleverly arranged and bound and slathered in ink. This life is the only one you have; wasting it is a true shame.
 
The FSM has a stripper factory and a beer volcano. That makes the FSM so much cooler than God.

Only a few writers, none of whom were eye witnesses, writing decades later say that thousands of people saw these miracles.

If unbelievers are unable to discern between the two then why will God destroy them for their inability to see his truth? And if Satan has us but God really loves us and wants us to find him then why doesn't he take us away from Satan, or better yet, lock Satan away for all eternity. You tried the parenting analogy before so let's use it again. If I saw my young son hanging out with someone I knew only wanted to seduce, corrupt and destroy him I would separate them without delay and take measures to assure that this evil predator never came in contact with my, or anyone's, child again.

And implying that we are tools of Satan is just ******* ******!
