Yelling back at the kids wasn't ideal but not a major problem. Publishing the video on the net? not so good.

I was just thinking...When Saddam was dictator, Kurdish kids were running for their lives, away from the soldiers. Here children are running "toward" those in charge. A refreshing image on many levels.

Personally, I do not understand the outcry whenever something horrid gets published regarding inhuman behaviour of troops at war. What do people expect? That a modern war is a nice, clean job? Actually, it would be a big surprise if nothing of that kind would happen during a war. It happened in WW II, in WW I, and the cruelty of the Thirty Years' War is probably beyond our imagination.

Don't get me wrong, I do certainly not excuse any such behaviour as shown on the video, but I very much dislike statements like that of the spokesman, saying 'These incidents are under investigation. 'The identities of the individuals are unknown; if found they could face charges.' Instead of looking at the big picture and dealing with the entire situation as such or those really responsible, they prefer to point at some 20-year old chap in uniform, lock him up and then declare the case solved. Pretty sad.

We can be pretty sure that the comments about wanting to use lethal force were a joke but not everyone will make that assumption.

Throwing stones at trains is hardly unknown in other parts of the world. I guess this is the iraqi equiverlent.
