Several suspitious devices were found in the Greater Boston area this morning.

In Boston, police are investigating four suspicious devices found at four separate locations throughout the city.

Officials are telling WBZ the devices are similar to the one found this morning in Sullivan Square attached to a beam supporting I-93 north.

Surely seems a prank.
Another photo of one of the devices attached.

Plus this seems to be the Flickr page of someone who has made a similar device.

To add to the story:

A statement from Turner Broadcasting.

They have been in place for two to three weeks in Boston, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, Seattle, Portland, Austin, San Francisco, and Philadelphia.

Two to Three weeks to find these 'suspicious' devices. Go Department of Homeland Security. Lets hope if anyone decides to blow up bridges for real that that have really REALLY slow watches.

BOSTON -- Turner Broadcasting plans to take responsibility for the "hoax devices" that were found at several locations in and around Boston Wednesday that forced police bomb units to scramble throughout the area.

The incidents were part of a marketing campaign that involved a character from the cartoon show "Aqua Teen Hunger Force."

"The 'packages' in question are magnetic lights that pose no danger. They are part of an outdoor marketing campaign in 10 cities in support of Adult Swim's animated television show 'Aqua Teen Hunger Force,'" Turner Broadcasting, the parent company of Cartoon Network, said in a statement.

Suspicious devices, a useless TV show, and much ado about nothing.

Slow news days for fifty, Alex. :p

The company will be given a pass on the crime.

They may have even known very well that it would cause the reaction it did from law enforcement.

Prepared with the knowledge that they would be able to claim it's an innocent stunt - they eagerly went ahead with the plan, and thought themselves geniuses for it.

That's my theory.

Foolishness? How would you react if you noticed that someone had attached some kind of electronic device to your house or car for instance? Would you want your family to drive or go inside before you investigated the device?

Yeah, let's stick something electronic and unfamiliar in sensitive places, like bridge substructures and subway platforms. Great idea, shmucks.

If I watched this crap "cartoon" I'd probably stop just because of this, but I don't, so I can't.
