LC:FC in PREproduction for over 1 year?!

Why does LCF have all the real smart people?

from LCF: Lcfc, Let's Work Together! Is the topic and one poster said:

2-3 Months? Remember Dylan said no promises. But if this is eve remotely true...then you're absolutely right. Once LC:FC is out I hope that people do't just take this standing down. I mean, all the talk saying it will be undebunkable (SLC could be out of a job! ) I think i speak for everyone when I say the release of LC:FC wil be a loud and clear call for all americans.

And if a theatre near me doesn't show it...I will single-handedly MAKE SURE they do. Come hell or high water it better be shown in San Diego!

Un-debunk-able! I suppose hearsay is kind of un-debunk-able. How can you prove what someone said was not what someone said when they said it?

I believe LC:FC will be unfactable, or totalitarifactless.

When will some of these CT people wake up to the illusion they suffer?

(I can not believe how undebunkable most of the loyal LCF people are.)

well he's sol for the entire summer
with spiderman 3, shrek the third, pirates 3, transformers, oceans 13, fantastic four 2 (he'll loose half his audience due to jessica alba in a tight spandex uniform), Harry potter, The Simpsons movie (which will be more entertaining than LC), Bourne Ultimatum, and Rush Hour 3

And if a theatre near me doesn't show it...I will single-handedly MAKE SURE they do. Come hell or high water it better be shown in San Diego!

yeah the only way you'll get them to show it is if you rent out the place for $3000 and get a bad print from Dylan.

One thing we have to take into account is that they are supposedly using exclusive interviews and footage.

Makes it very easy to manipulate.

Other than that I can't see why they are holding this "un-debunkable" evidence back. Surely by saying that they are admitting that their old stuff was, in fact, debunkable and therefore substantially wrong.

The only way LC:FC will be "undebunkable" is if it comes in like a milder version of "Press for the Truth". ANything more racey...and ya, I think we can punch a few holes in it...lol

My prediction: it will be nothing more than JAQing off, with zero substance.

Sadly, I don't think this prediction qualifies me for the $1,000,000 challenge as - to quote one of twoofers' favourite mantras - "it's so obvious" that the latest do-over will be nothing but a fluff piece if and when it materializes.

FYI

Found this info. Considering the track record of documentaries, Dylan's claims would all be record shattering if they were true.

A few obvious points. Only 3 of the documentaries in the top 100 opened in more than 500 theaters. All three combined opened in less than 3000. The vast majority of the films opened on less than 10 screens and never expanded beyond that. Only 70 of the top 417 documentaries in history made over 1 million. Only 13 made over 5 million. 3 of those belong to Moore.

No $20 million budget, no $2 million budget like AJ "heard" from his "inside sources"; no March release in theatres; Do-Over has apparently deluded himself into thinking that it will actually be shown at Cannes; FC will be "monumentally different" than the last do-over because they're "literally almost triple checking every sentence, ya know"; ISI, Mineta "all the hard stuff"; he's working with "real luminaries" in the bidnizz (cough); he and his fellow twoofers have been "demonized" by the media; and he doesn't want to compete with Spiderman 3.
What a shame. Dylan was saying that that would be the actual budget. I wanted to see how fast they were going to go down! The March release (NOT!) in theatres, that was a given. Triple checking every sentence means that there's no film to see and don't forget the Simpsons movie!

Every time Do Over Dylan creates something un-debunk-able, baby Popper cries.

Dylan, won't you please think of poor Karl?

If this is going to be 'undebunkable' then why in hell are they making it into some YouTube vid (cos you know that's what it'll be) instead of handing all the evidence in to the law? Or are the law also 'the man'? If so, who would they expect to deal with the issue? Are they thinking that somebody (though Ed knows who) will spot in on't net and kick up a stink?
Feh, these people are simply playing a game of detective and movie maker. And not doing it well.

Indeed. If he had 'undebunkable' info he'd submit it for peer-review at an engineering journal. But he won't.

Dylan's self-created mess...

I honestly can't tell if Dylan is really as delusional as he appears or if he is merely trying desperately to milk the moment, knowing it's the only shot he's ever going to get.

My hunch, based on very little, is that Dylan is caught a in trap of his own making. He built this little film on a scaffold of balsa wood and airplane glue, and it rose up and became a living, breathing, monster.

I had a similar experience with my little project to entertain my command 10 years ago...a weekly series on the 55th anniversary of World War II. It entertained 34 bored US and New Zealand military personnel and their civilian supporters during a long winter. Now it's got nearly 180 subscribers and I get regular e-mails from folks around the world, complimenting me, criticizing me, or berating me. They all want to know when I'll add the next chapter. Given that I have a full-time job, a full-time family, no financial support for this project, and even less time, I can't give a definitive answer. I just added a chapter, though.

At the same time, the page has also resulted in my getting angry denunciations...from guys who say I dishonored the Italian Army, a nutter who is convinced he met flying ace Douglas Bader in a Liverpool hotel in 1942, (Bader was actually in Colditz at the time), and accusations of plagiarism and internet sock-puppetry. One guy even told me the world would be a better place if I was dead. To his credit, he publicly and privately apologized and sincerely regrets that remark. I haven't forgiven him.

And that's just a day-by-day history of World War II. The biggest thing I'm saying is that the Nazis were bad. (And yes, I've had a few angry notes from neo-Nazis)

I suspect Mr. Avery is having similar problems, only on a grander scale, given the nature of his project and the equally bizarre nature of his fans and supporters. To make his life tougher, his film revealed his cluelessness, and succeeded mostly in angering a lot of honorable people, ranging from structural engineers to firefighters. If he pulls out of this debacle, admitting he made a fatuous mess of the truth, he alienates his supporters. If he sticks to his increasingly idiotic program, he only draws more flak and embarrassment from the world.

He really has no way out. At some levels, he reminds me of Joe McCarthy back in 1950...endlessly promising that list of Communists, and never really delivering. When McCarthy took the Senate floor to read the dossiers, it was clear he was reading them for the first time, and had no idea what was in them. Worse, many of the files of these Communists showed they were not. Some were empty. A few were duplicates. Some of them concerned guys who had applied for jobs and never actually been hired. One guy was described by McCarthy as being "the exact opposite of what I am discussing. This man is a patriotic American."

I think Dylan will have the same scene when and if his movie appears.

He's probably better off not actually releasing it. The longer he keeps the public guessing and in suspense, the more attention he can get, and the more he can waffle, dodge, and raise funds. The bottom line is the bottom line.

I agree with Kiwiwriter. Dylan has no options for a graceful exit from the stage. He'll either release the movie and get savaged by the world or not release the movie and get savaged by the truthers. Either way, there's a savaging in his future, and his current strategy seems to be to delay it as long as possible.

Option B would at least leave him with the possibility of going outside without being laughed at or stoned. I think he should just dump the project and get on with his life.

There are some new details in The Guardian today.

Someone called Tim Sparke of MercuryMedia is handling international distribution.

Avery & Co have apparently "employed lawyers to iron out copyright issues with borrowed footage, commissioned 3D graphics from Germany, and recruited a theology professor to act as fact-checker and consultant."

Who would this theology professor be, I wonder?
