LC:FC in PREproduction for over 1 year?!

I don't know what the "maximum" might be, or if there is one. I know that theaters sometimes show the same movie on more than one screen, but that's usually reserved for the biggest of blockbusters. I have serious doubts that LC:FC will get on three screens, much less 3,000.

How many screens did Star Wars open to when it was released? If it was less than 3000, then how can Dylan even bother to compare his film to a great blockbuster? If Dylan is REALLY going to open it to 3000 screens, then I can expect a HUGE flop. It costs money to operate the screens, but the demand for it isn't high, and I doubt it will be high. The only people flocking to see LC:FC will be the CT's, the curious yet smart, and the critics. He will run at a loss and his mandate to "educate" people will go to the gutters...

the original? Opening day 2 Screens back in 1977. It then opened to 43 screens the week after.

Phantom Menace opened to 2,970 Screens
Attack of the Clones opened to 3,161 Screens
Revenge opened to 3,661 Screens

I refer you to my post no. 82

All they need are 3000 clapped out landrovers, some projectors and a beatbox.

oh and a captive audience.......

....any waco type things happening over there these days?

And Dylan compares his film, of all films, to be as great as the great blockbusters. Well, it's his gamble, and Hollywood's (Only if they're dumb enough)

Serenity opened on a little over 2,000 screens in North America.

Dylan's bluffing.

Can you even get in theaters without an MPAA rating? I can't imagine that a theater would take something that hasn't gone past the decency people....
I don't know, but they can at least advertise unrated films, which says to me that there's been an agreement to show the film, even before it's been given a rating.

This can be a little misleading though. Theaters in the 70s were much larger than they are now. I was working for Famous Players in the 70s and we still had 1500 seat houses back then. I was an assistant manager at the Chinook theater in Calgary and it had a capacity of 750 (Rocky packed them in, never saw a movie that affected people like that one). In the late 70s, I was shifted to the first multiplex in Calgary at Market Mall, a 6-plex with nothing over 250 seats.

Still, 3000 theaters? He really has to be ignorant of the business to even think that.

I hear that they're flying everywhere and interviewing people for the Final Cut. It's probably taking them a while to find any eye witnesses who support the conspiracy theory side, so give them a break.

According to a comment on Dylan's Myspace page, he was on Alex Jones' show today, and announced that he's going to Cannes this year.

thats in may... sorry that's another apparent lie.

and sorry, LC in any format doesn't meet Cannes guidelines:
http://www.festival-cannes.org/pratique/inscription/form_cinefondation.php?langue=6002

and submissions are due by February 15, 2007

Edit: sorry, it says that he's going to Cannes...not that LC will be entered into the Film Festival.

Dont know why he would go...he's going to be surrounded by a bunch of french snobs who hate americans.

Well, the Hunt-The-Boeing website did come to us from France - maybe he's hooking up with Theirry Meyssan and all the gang overseas.
