For those of us who aren't traveling with laptops, does the Riviera have reasonably priced internet terminals in its business center or elsewhere? I have encountered hotels that sell access cards at ridiculous rates ($20 for 30 minutes or so), but I hope to find a better deal. If the hotel doesn't have it, does LV have anything like internet cafes, or maybe internet corners in coffee shops or visitors centers?

I was there a couple of weeks ago. There are internet cafes but they seemed high priced. The Luxor had a four computer terminals in the lobby with printers. It was handy to be able to print out a boarding pass. I think the cost was $1/minute. If you do have a laptop, you can usually find a hotspot at the Starbucks. Starbucks are everywhere. (At the Luxor, there were 3 within sight of each other)

I have an EVDO phone with tether so if anyone needs to do something not too intensive they are free to stop by my room. Especially scantily clad skepchicks. :D

Internet Cafes are right next door in several locations, but here's a real tip.

At the Hilton, there's a coffee bar with free Wifi. Just cross Paradise and you're at the Hilton, maybe a 10 minute walk.

An update, for anyone (like me) who won't be traveling with a laptop:

1/ The Riviera business center apparently charges a dollar a minute to use the internet terminals in their business center.

2/ Kinko's charges 30 cents a minute.

3/ There is a chain of places called Cyberstops that sells 30-minute cards for $8 or 60-minute cards for $12. The one nearest the Riviera is in the Aztec casino.

That one doesn't look bad. But I'm still interested in hearing about better deals (again, for terminal use, not just wi-fi access).

good for the wifi access!

Pool Boy has to do some work. Me, I'm going to just enjoy real life interaction!

The wifi access is flakey. I have been unable to maintain a connection to the chat room. Although, I only went there to see what everyone was doing for breakfast.

I've been at the Riv a couple of days because I'm also attending NATPE. I can get a connection to the $10 a day network but it never gives me an IP address, so my guess is, they need to get hit by a cluehammer. I haven't tried it from public areas.

Fortunately, NATPE provides free wireless at the conference, so I'm not reduced to wardriving to find an open access point.

If someone finds a spot that does work, please let me know -- by putting a note on a bulletin board or something. If you post here, I probably won't get it!
