We've criticized Dylan Avery quite a bit, but I'm pleased to give him credit where credit is due. Asked how much he intends to contribute to the families of victims of 9-11, he makes an extraordinary promise:

we'll be donating more than michael moore, oliver stone and paul greengrass have donated to date, which is right now at approximately 0%

Wow! Now, of course, Dylan appears to be wrong in his estimate of the donations by those fellows; United 93 donated 10% of its opening week receipts to the Flight 93 Memorial Fund. And Oliver Stone is donating about $2.6 million to 9-11 Memorials and Charities:

Four New York-based charities that work to honor the memory of those lost in the 9/11 attacks or provide ongoing support to their families will receive a total of $2.6 million from the release of the film World Trade Center.

I am really, really impressed by Dylan's generous pledge!

No wonder he needs $20 million! You go, Dylan! Finally, he does something worthwhile...

I am assuming his jab within a promise is that none of the money has actually seen the charities in question YET! am I correct? SO in theory, if none of the charities have actually recieved any of the PROMISED money, than he can basically give $1 and be giving more to charity than these people have given YET.

I am assuming this is his meaning...or am I extra slow today.

TAM:)

Has Dylan addressed these errors-hahahahaha sorry, I ALMOST got through that sentence with a straight face.

I keep thinking that there are areas in life where Dylan and co. aren't miserable failures with accuracy, but man, I don't think there is.

Thank God none of them do construction.

posted by look up.

The more you donate, the better man. NO ONE, and I mean NO ONE will legitimately be able to accuse you and the movement as a whole, of "pissing on the graves of victims"

It would be a great P.R. tactic to use.

Exactly Dylan, nobody could accuse you of pissing on graves and it would be great PR.

You are not a liar are you Dylan? You are good for your word are you not? I think it would be commendable you donate millions to the people you continue tear apart with your DVD's.

I was dying to bring this up at the Hardfire debate but didn't get the chance.

Radio show "National Intel Report" 8/30/06 Jason Bermas and Korey Rowe Hosting for Stadtmiller

At 42:00, Avery calls in: Paul Greengrass went back on his promise to donate 10% of profits of United 93 to victims' families. "Apparently he hasn't given anybody any money."

Bermas, laughing: "Of course he hasn't! Why would he? He's a scumbag"
Ahem. It wasn't Paul Greengrass's promise, it was Universal Pictures', and they honored it, and then some.

Universal donated $1,150,000
to Families of flight 93 victims, according to the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University. http://www.philanthropy.iupui.edu/News/2006/Clients and Friends Memo - Q2 2006.pdf

In June, Universal donated an additional $250,000 to the Flight 93 Memorial."We are extremely grateful for Universal Pictures' continued generosity and efforts to raise awareness of the story of Flight 93," said Hamilton Peterson, president of Families of Flight 93, a nonprofit that is assisting in efforts to establish the memorial. http://abclocal.go.com/wabc/story?section=9_11&id=4319620

In addition, a portion of the video sales are being donated to the Flight 93 National Memorial. http://www.mail-archive.com/market_text@mediabizcorp.com/msg00556.html

So Avery has promised to donate at least $4 million to victims' causes. Excellent! We're holding you to that, Dylan!

Let the squirming begin...

can somone point this out to the LC guys...since Dylan made it publically known that he will donate more than what universal/united 93 did and world trade center did, he must now show how he will accomplish this and provide a publically available fund so that we can get up to the minute updates on how much have been dontated.

edit : gravy just posted ^_^

I'll match the first $25 USD that Mr. Avery contributes to a charity mentioned in Gravy's post above (with adequate proof of said contribution, of course). :)

DoOvers reply...
Typing in bigger font does not make you right. I've spoken with numerous survivors, one of which might ring a bell with you, and I hear they've been dragging their feet.

Where are your stats on that? What proof do you have? Have you actually talked to the survivors, or are you just acting confident again?

You see, I actually TALK to the people who were affected by 9/11, and their lives have been shattered since that day and almost every promise has been broken. But you seem to think everything's A-Okay.

Please note I replied in normal size font, and stop avoiding the issues. Like, you know, the people who were affected by 9/11 calling for a new investigation.

You can attack me, but can you attack the Jersey Girls?

The bolded alone, makes DoOver the lowest, of the LOW!

And to be fair, it's apparent Mr. Avery thinks that the others contributed nothing (0%, as he put it), and that he will contribute more than that.

He can fulfill that promise with a $5 contribution.

The guy spoke without thinking one more time. I just wish he'd learn from his mistakes.

there again, it shows Dylan's lazy ass attitude toward actual research..instead of talking to people who are hurt by uninformed about the real world, he should take that time to do some real research...

I don't get it. Are they seriously claiming that Stone/Flight-93 never actually donated any money?

Agree. I just didn't express it in quite that way.

I really don't think there's one person here that expects Mr. Avery to live up this supposed "promise".

He believed that none of those people had donated any money, so he promised to give "more" than that. BFD. He made another stupid statement. I've come to expect it.

Actually, I'm not sure Avery has much interest in the whole "truth" movement anymore. He doesn't seem to say much unless he is specifically attacked.

He kinda reminds me of my own son. He decided to change the rear disc brake pads on his car. He just started trying to do it with no repair manuals, advice from others who had done it, or even google research. He failed, and his car has been on jack stands in the driveway for 3 days.

Same thing.
