Nothing is quite as cheering as good sarcasm.

At least she went for the intellectual approach, as opposed to something like National Lampoon's old chestnuts about President Ford's long and turbulent battles with a microphone.Nothing is quite as cheering as good sarcasm.

I agree. Pls point me to some.
LMAO @ calling this "intelligent." What a pathetic, warped piece of slime this b*tch is. It's bad enough to be so wrapped up in political extremism, so desperately in need of social status that one uses political affiliations/rants to do it, and so grossly uninterested in objectivity or rational thought or intelligence in general, but to kick a person who just died (or use it to go on yet another anti-Bush rant, gee we need more of those) is as low as it gets, short of committing a felony that is. Yeah how dare his family use his pension plan? The nerve. And how dare they say nice things about a guy at his funeral? I agree with her, we should stop that policy (someone pls remind us all of that when she dies). Let's see, she just about covered the bases....wait, no pro-abortion or pro "affirmative action" rant?? She must be slipping.
I despite Bill Clinton like few others, but when he dies I wouldn't even think of posting/publishing some meandering, pointless attack on the guy or whining about why the current Democratic president sucks, blah blah blah blah blah.
One could graze for hours on the great slopes of the massive obituaries and never guess that during his mercifully brief occupation of the White House, this president had:
- Disgraced the United States in Iraq and inaugurated a long period of calamitous misjudgment of that country.
- Colluded with the Indonesian dictatorship in a gross violation of international law that led to a near-genocide in East Timor.
- Delivered a resounding snub to Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn at the time when the Soviet dissident movement was in the greatest need of solidarity.

This is from memory, over 30 years ago, but I've been using and adapting them since I first read them. I offer them as a reminder of the contemporary view, circa 1975, of Gerald Ford, President (and sh** screen for the Nixonian blunder of Watergate.)
What is Pres Ford's favorite state? Texas. He can pronounce it.
What is a Gerald Ford tongue twister? "Hell-o"
Gerald Ford thinks Veto Powers is an Italian U-2 pilot.
Geral Ford thinks foreign policy is insurance on Venezuelan oil wells.
No, it is not right to speak ill of the dead, but I resurrected these old Nat Lamp gags to point out two things:
1. The nostalgia seems to fit a different memory of Pres Ford in the White House than I had (for all that he was a decent man)
2. Low brow jokes about American presidents were not originated in November of 2000.
"Don't change Dicks in the middle of a screw: vote for Nixon in 72."
"Every Dick should have a rest: vote for McGovern he's the best."
DR
You have plenty of company.I have never understood this respect for the dead thing.
I guess that was supposed to make sense. whateverFunny things is, it seems the people with the most respect for the dead have the least respect for the living.
