How Loony are the Loons?

Another massive conspiracy!

Oh, look at that, it appears that RemoveBush has managed to go from 0 to BANNED in 182 posts:

"Legal action"? What the hell? Because we asked him to use the quote function?

Chalk another up for the evil government Illuminati death squad. Please don't kill me.

This is the work of the New World Order, the Zionists, and the folks who gassed the passengers on the four planes on 9/11!

Well, I look forward to testifying in pre-trial during the lawsuit...I get to put a face on Remove Bush (sadly) and smoe of the other members of this forum, which sounds like fun. We'll have some lunch after deposing.

The NTSB reports on the FDR data from flights 77 and 93 indicate that whether any of the autopilots were engaged and what mode was in use was among the data recorded by the FDRs. They also released a report, "Study of Autopilot, Navigation Equipment, and Fuel Consumption Activity, Based on United Airlines Flight 93 and American Airlines Flight 77 Digital Flight Data Recorder Information", which indicates that, IIRC, the hijacker-pilot on flight 77 used the autopilot to fly to Washington and then disengaged it to make his attact manually. Links to these reports can be found at http://www.911myths.com/html/ntsb_release_august_22_2006.html.

So IDW RemoveBush got himself banned, eh? Empty threats of legal action are a characteristic IDW personality A behavior, as you can see if you read far enough through the GLP thread I linked some pages ago.

I'm actually inclined to think that RemoveBush might well have been the original Interdimensional Warrior, rather than a sock puppet for one of our old familiars.

That does sound like fun. Unfortunately it will almost certainly end with some kind of MIB Delta SEAL raid, so be sure to wear something bulletproof.

I'm curious, though: what would the real life equivalent of posting without using the "quote" feature be?

Good question...

Well, that would basically consist of RB interrupting his lawyer during the depositions, to hurl insults at us, while we testify. Then he will argue fiercely with the Randi Forum lawyer during his cross-examination. The poor stenographer will get lost in the back-and-forth.

It would be like a "He Said / She Said" dispute, except that no one could determine if what he might have said was actually what she said or if she said some of what they said but not what we said about what may or may not have been said.

Settle out of court.

Have you ever listened to Jason Bermas? Kind of like that, I'd expect.

It would be like a "He Said / She Said" dispute, except that no one could determine (snip)

So it would be a confusing, insulting, disjointed screed delivered in an annoying, whiny voice by someone whose grasp on reality can best be described as "tenuous", laced with profanity, references to our mothers, and phrases we had just uttered mixed in with RB's actual statements?

On second thought, that would be awesome. For us, that is, not so much for anyone trying to follow or record the conversation.

I notice that my stupid little question just got 300% more answers than RB has given us in this whole thread. He did answer at least one question, right? He said he was an "electronics engineer." It was probably a lie, but it was an aswer to a question.

Apathoid, you have cleared up many misconceptions about the flight controls onboard these planes and shown that they could not be controlled remotely by some rouge program embedded in the planes flight control computer.
It is clear especially to me that this program would only be effective if the planes autopilots were on. The manual controls are mechanically linked through to hydraulic actuators where as the auto pilot controls are routed through to servo valves.
Under auto pilot the bank angle is limited to 30 degrees, this angle was clearly exceeded on the video that babazaroni presented and as such is it save to say that the video alone proves that this plane was being flown manually? Is it safe to say that this angle can only be achieved though a pilot using the mechanical linkage to the planes hydraulics actuators and that the auto controls would prevent this happening?
Thanks Stateofgrace and thats a pretty good summary. It's certainly not the stock autopilot controlling UA175 for those final moments. I suppose it could be a sooper sekrit gummint autopilot, but I outline the problems with that as well in scenario 2 of my essay.

Equally so the black boxes were recovered from the crash sites of Flight 77 and Flight 93 would the data that was recorded on these boxes confirm whether the planes were being flown manually or on autopilot? I would like to think it would and it would surely finish this remote controlled nonsense if the FDR showed that these planes were being flown manually when they crashed.
The hijackers flying UA93 and AA77 relied very heavily on autopilot to navigate to their targets, but in the case of AA77 autopilot was disengaged at 7000' and flown manually for the attack run.

But on Star Trek the Enterprise is always being taken over by the computer, and you can't disconnect it because as soon as the red-shirted technician tries to go near the auxilliary control circuits with the disconnectoprobulator in his hand it vaporizes him with an energy beam, and the only way to regain control is to confuse the computer by telling it to calculate all the digits of pi and that everything you say is a lie, except on Next Generation where it's the computer-generated people from the holodeck taking over the ship, and how to stop them is unknown because the plots are too stupid to watch until the end, and for some reason the Federation never issued a safety recall on holodecks ("nature of defect: evil fictional characters take over ship") but anyway the Enterprise is a "fly by colorful glowing fibers that nontheless emit sparks when overloaded" system just like the airplanes used in 9-11, so the conspirators could have used a SUBROUTINE from the computers on the Star Trek set and installed an energy beam in the cockpit next to the auxilliary control circuits so no experienced pilot would have dared to try to turn off the autopilot after the Kardassians used Admiral Kirk's Command Override Code both to take control of the aircraft and to lower the shields of the World Trade Center towers so that their structural integrity field would no longer protect the concrete cores from the tachyon emissions created by remodulating the phaser frequencies through the transporter pattern buffers, and I'm certain of this because I'm a licensed and experienced subspace radio technician as well as an expert in nanopositronics and warp core engineering so I knew right away from the way the towers fell that it had to be a rogue anti-Klingon faction within the Federation that secretely supported the Kardassians by means of Romulan cut-outs behind it all (need I even mention the obvious involvement of the cloaking device?), and so far no evidence whatsoever has proven me wrong.

Respectfully,

Hee hee. Good one!

Welcome, M-5 :)

He would repeat back what someone else has argued then proceed with his counterargument without pausing to take a breath. Sort of like the dialogue in the old "Speed Racer" cartoons.

Hey, M-5! When did you get reassembled?

.... and for some reason the Federation never issued a safety recall on holodecks ("nature of defect: evil fictional characters take over ship") but anyway ....

I always wondered why they let Data keep serving on the Enterprise after he proved so easy to hack into and use as an instrument to take over the ship.

Just thinking about it gives me a splitting headache.

He's a fun guy. Plus, he plays a mean trumpet.

What, are you going to bum everyone else out just because he might be used to bring doom on the entire crew, possibly killing millions in the process?
