The principle of a motor states that a conductor with a current flowing through it and moving through a magnetic field will turn perpendicular to the direction of current flow
Well we have one hell of good conductor, the Earth, its got current flowing through it (witness the north and south magnetic poles as proof) and it is moving around the sun
If their was a magnetic field the system would be complete
So my question is: Is there a magnetic field through which the Earth is moving strong enough to make it turn like a motor?
My understanding is that the sun's magnetic field is only as strong as a refrigerator magnet at a distance of earth's orbit, so it is hard to believe that would be the culprit - unless having the force of a refrigerator magnet on an earthwide scale, permeating EVERYTHING, IS enough to do the trick? Not being well versed in the mechanics of magnetic flux, I haven't got a clue
But what about the Electromagnetic Pulse from a hydrogen bomb? It induces a large voltage in a conductor - witness all the blown diodes after nuke tests near Hawaii
Could the EMP from trillions of fusion events in the sun per second be bathing the Earth with an electromagnetic field? Hence the motor system is complete and the world turns
Just wondering!
