When is JC returning?

Maybe Zep's right.

After all, what the Romans did certainly matches Luke's prediction, if prediction it was.

And if only 144,000 were "raptured" then, who would have noticed?

KK,

Revelations tells us that only 144,000 can go. And these are celibate, virgin men - see my first post in this thread.

So - you wrote that we can anticipate that it'll be soon. Now you write that that only God knows when.

So - I repeat my question - how can you think it'll be soon?
Many scholars and theologians have discerned this teaching on the 144,000 and come to the conclusion that these are the Jews that will come to faith in Christ once the church is raptured out of here.

Many Jews still deny Jesus, but the antichrist will turn that around. During the seven year tribulation period all hell will break loose and once the antichrist tries to make the Jews worship him as God then the Jews will know they have been deceived.

Just keep an eye out for Isreal to sign a peace treaty is all can advise. This is something everyone is pushing toward. Also keep your eye on what the EU.

I just pray others will wake up before it gets worse. All those who receive Jesus, receive His promises!

*SIGH*

Can you identify for us those "scholars and theologians" of which you speak?

Can you provide references to their discussions and conclusions, so that we too can see what their arguments actually are for the conclusion you offered?

What "antichrist" are you referring to? (Hint: There isn't one in the bible...)

What is the difference between Jews denying Jesus, and, say, Indonesians denying Jesus? Or Patagonians denying Jesus? Or Biami tribesmen denying Jesus? That is, why is your claim of the Jews denying Jesus so special to you?

What seven year tribulation period are you referring to? The one in the allagorical book of Revelations, perhaps?

Which particular peace treaty involving Israel are you referring to? They have already made a number of them...

And what is the logical connection between the mythical antichrist "taking over" the Jews and a peace treaty involving Israel?

Please take you time answering, and think carefully about your answers and what they REALLY mean BEFORE you post, OK?

KK,

"Also keep your eye on what the EU."

On what the EU what? This is of interest to me, obviously, bearing in mind that I live in Germany.....

Where's the EU mentioned in the Bible?

That would be somewhere near where the mountains run down to Jericho. Or something.

I am a bit leary of your claims after I read, in another thread, about how widely off base your claims about Wicca were.

How's chances of your answering the outstanding question in that thread?

Mark 9:1 and Mark 13:30-32 are interesting to note here also.

In 9:1 Jesus promises that the kingdom of God will come within the lifetimes of some of those he is talking to. Which of those people are still alive I wonder?

Mark 13:32 is commonly quoted. It pretty much sets the pattern for creationist's out of context quotes. If they'll take Jesus out of context, why not Gould and Darwin? In 13:32 Jesus says "No man knows the hour". But two sentences before Jesus swears an oath that it will all happen within a generation.

One of the people who I've heard quote 13:32 is responsible for tracking my vacation time. If I ever decide to quit my job I'm going to say "I'm going on vacation for about a week. I'll be back by Friday, not exactly sure what time though". And then see how long the paychecks keep coming.

Mark 9:1 He went on to say, "In solemn truth I tell you that some of those who are standing here will certainly not taste death till they have seen the Kingdom of God already come in power."
Mark 13
30 Amen, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things have taken place. 31 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away. 32 "But of that day or hour, no one knows, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

Probably not good, but thanks for pointing out that post. It reveals, to me at least, that KK was never a "Pagan" as she claimed to us; was never involved in New Ager beliefs.

Oh, Kathy. You big fibber, you. Liars make Baby Jesus cry, you know.

The other (and better, imo) interpretation is that these are 144,000 set aside to be missionaries during the Trubulation. I don't know the exact number, but I'm willing to bet there are at least 144,000 Messianic Jews out there.

Actually, Israel has signed several peace treaties in the past. I'm sure they'll sign more in the future.

The EU is too big now. When it was 10 nations, then you had a chance of claiming it as the revived Roman Empire, and matching it to Revelation. You can't do that now.

I just pray others will wake up before it gets worse.

Oh believe me, I did.

All those who receive Jesus, receive His promises!

You mean like moving mountains, getting bitten by poisonous snakes and surviving, and casting out demons? I wasn't able to do that when I was like you, KK. Why is that?

I believe the Lord is waiting for the last sinner to repent and be saved before His return. Only God the Father knows the exact moments Jesus will be told...Son go get my children. My question to you is if Jesus were to return today, are you ready?

Well, if that's the criterion, I hope you're not expecting JC to come back in my lifetime.

There are numerous mentions in various scriptures to the effect that the "return" was an event that was expected within the lifetimes of the individuals involved.

I just read a history of Revalations, and the author pointed out many such references in that book alone.

JC coming?

SOON VERY SOON.
I was raised a Jehovah's witness, and thank me that I have for the last nine years been and atheist, The JW cult, and it is a cult, teaches that you do not need to get a higher education, have children bla bla bla. Because the JC is coming soon. In my ex-relion alone we were thought that the end of the world was coming in 1975, then in 76 we were told we expected more than the "meat in due season" or spiritual food that was given to us. Or it was our fault for expecting to much.
Thank science for the internet, when it came out I started to read about my religion, at the risk of being disfellowshiped, a common threat of punishment given out to people who are dubbers as we call them, that dear to question the validity of the cult.
When DFed you are not able to talk to your closest family members unless they would be DFed.
I found through much study, that the cult started by C.T. Russell was based on the old millerite movement, and that Russell had given dated for the end of the world since 1874,1914,1916 and his successors had done after him.
When you are born into a religion you do not see silly it is. I was able to stand back and question things that just did not seem logical to me.
I was told by one elder named dick Schrader that I thought to much and that at Armageddon there would be many "thinking" people that would be killed.
I decided that my answer to the question "don't you want to live on earth forever?" was Sure but not with you ********.
