28th Kingdom,
Here is a google video that shows a close-up of the South Tower at the moment of collapse. See for yourself whether or not the upper part of the building starts it's downward movement before the squibs.
I don't have linking rights yet, so you may need to cut and paste the URL.

Beachnut, squibs is a term I've heard regarding the outward puffing of smoke/debris from the floors as the building collapses. Some folks think these squibs are from explosives while others think they are from compression.
yeah, before the CTers the only use of "squib" ive ever seen was to refer to putting gunshot wounds on actors (the quib makes a little puff of smoke or breaks a blood pack)I am sorry, I know the CT guy say squib for the air accelerating out the windows.
I know an explosion would have blown out many windows and the debris would decelerate, while the air was accelerating.
Squibs I have seen blow blood on actors, I thought.
1 a : to cause to disperse or disappear : DESTROY <do not dissolve and deface the laws of charity -- Francis Bacon> b : to separate into component parts : DISINTEGRATE c : to bring to an end : TERMINATE
That's pretty good for me.
I regret using the term 'Squib'. It sure has detracted from the discussion.

28th Kingdom, look at the video linked by SkiBum in message #521, and give us your interpretation.
Nothing survives Metal Storm!
...Now, each building crumbles into it's own footprint. Okay, so in the documented history of steel-structured skyscapers like the WTC towers...there has NEVER (I'm just letting you know, so you don't have to look it up) There has NEVER been a steel-structured skyscraper, that has COMPLETELY collapsed into it's footprint by virtue of a FIRE...
