Most people despise big government power and influence....but most of you seem to revel in it. Did I hit it on the head, or what?

That would be an "or what".

If I had to define myself politically, I'd say I was a non-wanker libertarian. I've voted Conservative in every federal election here in Canada, although I had to hold my nose to do that the last time. I believe that government has a proper role in society, but that some of the roles it has taken on these days often go beyond what those roles should be. I also acknowledge that others disagree with me on that point, and that in some cases they have good points, but that I weigh some issues differently.

I believe that people in governments do on occasion do bad things, and use their position to cover them up. I believe they occasionally do stupid things, and cover them up. I also believe they do great things, and do not get enough credit for them.

I also believe that they had no active role, either MIHOP or LIHOP, in the 9/11 attacks, and that pretty much all of them would have done almost anything to have stopped them, had they been able to.

I know you twoofer types have a real problem with this idea, but it's true: You don't have to love everything about the government to believe they had no role in 9/11.

ETA: How many times will we have to show you your "gut reactions" are wrong, before you can admit they can be wrong?

...so basically the first building to get struck...had virtually extinguished fires an hour before the building decided to magically eat itself into the ground.

You claim to have a high IQ but you lack the simple knowledge on how a fire works. The fires at ground zero burned for weeks. What was burning was NOT molten steel but rather combustible materials that were in the buildings (carpets, sofas, all sorts of plastics, etc).

Let me explain it to you in a way your IQ can comprehend it. Imagine lots of kerosene is splashed around your home and set on fire. Do you think the fire will go out once the kerosene burns itself off?

What evidence do you have that the burning material was STEEL (and not aluminium)? Again, I ask you what INDEPENDENT research have you done beyond Google and YouTube? I've spoken to many FDNY firefighters who were there and they all stay the fires were burning debris. Sorry, but I believe members of my own family over you anyday.

A lost tape of lost voices, ignored until recently by investigators studying the emergency response on Sept. 11, shows that firefighters climbed far higher into the south tower than practically anyone had realized. At least two men reached the crash zone on the 78th floor, where they went to the aid of grievously injured people trapped in a sprawl of destruction.

Beatriz Susana Genoves, a greeter for the Windows on the World restaurant, was assigned to the 78th floor sky lobby to meet people coming up from the lobby and lead them to the second elevator to reach a conference being held on the 106th floor. After the crash, she escaped by walking down 78 flights of stairs. As she descended, she could hear on her walkie-talkie cries for help from her fellow employees trapped upstairs.

I worked for Windows on the World as a Greeter. On September 11, I was stationed on the 78th floor. An elevator would bring guests from the lobby, and I would meet them and lead them to another elevator to the 106th floor.

I had been working since 7 o'clock. Everything was fine. Then I felt a big explosion. Smoke filled the air. I saw a woman come out of the smoke. She said, "Oh my God, I'm burned, I'm burned."

A man told me, "Here are the stairs, take the stairs. " and I went down. It was so hot in there. So many people were trying to get down, it was really slow. Somebody said, "Stay against the wall. Just one line down, so the firemen can go up."

I had my walkie-talkie in my hand. I hear a man, upstairs on the 106th floor say, "Please help us." I heard his voice, but there was nothing I could do.

Later, after I got out of the building, someone said, "Run, the building is going to collapse," so we crouched behind a car. There was a roar like an airplane, and then the white smoke went all over us. I couldn't breathe. If I opened my mouth, it would fill with dust. I said, "Oh my God, I'm dying." When I saw myself in the mirror, I was all white. I said, "It's not me."

For so many nights, I couldn't sleep. I would remember the faces of everyone going up the elevator that morning, and I cried. I cried. This is my problem. I remember the people.

This is a great tip. I knew I came to James Randi's forum for a reason and now I know that it was to expose the insecurity in my stance (too far from the plate, can't reach the outside cut-fastball) and that my viewpoints are vacuous (which reminds me I've gotta get a new vacuum these bagless things are a joke I mean I breathe in all the crap I just vacuumed up and I'm not even wearing a HEPA filter most of the time).

Ya got me.

Now I understand that crashing a 767 into a steel and concrete building not only should cause NO damage - but in fact it should actually STRENGTHEN the building. Brings more metal to the structure, and then its own fuel to weld it into the fabric of the building so it could stand as long as the Cheops-Archeopteryx Flying Pyramid.

I had it wrong. "No smoke or fire problems," on the 74th floor. Another firefighter says...samething on floor 68 were on 71 coming up behind you.

"Two isolated pockets of fire on the 78th floor...could knock it down with two lines."
