Bolton is gone

The American electorate voted for GW Bush...twice...in case you may have forgotten.
Actually, that is not quite true. The American electorate voted for Gore in 2000. The Electoral College voted for Bush.

And, may I remind you that the famous Bush v. Gore case was brought by Bush asking the courts to STOP counting the ballots so that we could never know officially who won Florida.

On the bright side for Bolton, he should be a shoo in for a "Got Milk?" contract. They can save the makeup budget.

And now Bush has the lowest approval ratings of any USA president in living memory. :D And during the Congressional election, Republican candidates were desperate not to be seen with Bush. :D
In case you may have forgotten.
So I guess you're telling me that the American people suddenly got a case of the smarts?
Experience tells. :D
Your apparent penchant for confirmation bias is rather stunning.
Tsk. Your penchant for ostrich-head-in-sand is awesome.
Well I don't generally put much stock in predictions of this sort.
Naaw, just in sloganising, eh?
is throw brickbats at BushCo;
Bush and the Congressional Reps just made it all so easy for the Dems, yes? :D
I sincerely doubt that the Repubs are going to give them a break.
Now I'm laughing. :D Go on, tell me another. :) After all, Bush and the Congressional Reps practically fell over leaning backwards to give the Dems a break in the Congressional elections. :p
Your penchant for whistling in the dark is highly amusing.

Ugliest. Mustache. Ever.

I wish I had more to add to this discussion that hasn't already been said, but that's pretty much all I have to contribute.

I don't know all that much about Bolton's politics except that I seem to disagree with him on many of his key positions, but I do know one thing: John Bolton has the best moustache ever.

I do know this and I was frankly appalled that SCOTUS overturned the Florida courts. But what was done was done...and apparently it was legal as well. I was convinced at the time that later unofficial re-counts may show Gore winning FL and thus undermine the Presidency.

However as the months passed and un-official ballot re-count results in FL (which were sponsored by various newspapers) came in they all showed Bush as the winner.

AFAIK there were various standards used for "hanging chads", "undervotes", "overvotes", "pregnant chads", etc...etc...and under all of the various standards used Bush still won FL.

If you have any info proving that he didn't I'd like to see it. Not that it matters now that 6 years have passed...but I am still curious about it.

Here's my pithy contribution: stupidest-looking hair and worst mustache ever.

First it goes one way...

No. I don't forget much...my memory is quite good. I remember this type of thing happening in 2000. Not many Dems wanted BC to be seen with them either. One of those was most famously his own Veep.

Bush and the Congressional Reps just made it all so easy for the Dems, yes? :D

Of course they did. Politicians who can't keep it in their pants always makes life a lot easier for their opponents! Gee Gurdur,...what rock were you hiding under in Sep-Oct this year? Of course the Dems tried to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory by trotting out Kerry to insult the intelligence of US troops, but it didn't work. Americans were too weary of the war and corruption in Congress. That's why it's so incredibly funny that the first thing Ms. Pelosi did was to nominate John (Abscam) Murtha to lead the majority...and impeached judge Alcee Hastings to lead the intelligence committee. That's two major mistakes by a House Speaker elect. One wonders how many more blunders she'll have once she actually assumes the job. Way to show the electorate that the Dems are serious about eliminating corruption!

Again, one must wonder in which middle school you were hiding during the last months before the election? Or does your public school district not have the $$ for a current events curriculum?

As I said before the Dems now have the power. They can use it to champion their better policy initiatives...or they can let the Repubs use that same power against them to spotlight the fact that they have no ideas. Either way it will be interesting.

All politics aside - look at the guy. Could you imagine trying to have a serious conversation with him? I've heard him speak...it's not pretty. He looks more like the slightly unpleasant convenient store owner or disgruntled milkman than he does a -insert any political job ever here-.

So in closing - Bolton is lame, and I'm glad he's takin' his hobo bag and movin' on. I wish him luck in his future career as a baggage handler and/or diner chef.

I read a rumor that he's already looking for a TV gig. I see Fox News "Analyst" (aka propagandist) in his future. He can join the ever so suave Brit Hume and Bill O'Reilly as an ugly-assed old bastard to balance out their peroxide blonde bimbo brigade.

But it worked, you didn't even notice his haircut!

So, those of you glad to see him go: What big gaffe did he pull at the UN that makes you so glad to see him go? Or is it just politics that matters?

That's just to prove it's not a combover. People who do have combovers need guys like Bolton sporting the same style to provide a sliver of a doubt that theirs may not be a combover.

Unfortunately for them, Bolton is the only person w/ actual hair sporting this style.

You know, I bet if Bolton went on Oprah and got a makeover he would have been confirmed in a heartbeat.

People don't like representatives w/ bad hair and a stupid moustache.
