It's from a BBC TV Show called Goodness Gracious Me: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goodness_Gracious_Me_(TV_&_radio)

As far as I know, the cast of that show are all second generation British Indians and so probably from Hindu families. I did see a documentary about Britains muslim community (which is mainly from Pakistan, originally) where they made the point that most of the UK labelled everyone from the subcontinent as "Asian" and that in producing a "British Asian" comedty programme in Goodness Gracious Me the BBC was representing only Indian immigrants and not Pakistaki or Bangladeshi ones.
