So, who do you replace him with? I don't think he'll go quietly.I think one of the first post-election Administration casualties will be Rumsfeld. Soon.

As everyone should be. The man's an embarassment to Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh, conservatives, the Catholic Church, the Republican Party, and the human species in general.

Luke T., you couldn't have been more correct. Sorry, DR.
CNN just announced that Rumsfeld is resigning.

Bush coming out swinging in about 28 minutes.
As a Democrat, I would find that troubling...The Maciavelli answer: Rumsfeld goes. Bush appoints Lieberman as secretary of Defense....making it 50/50 or 51/49 again because the GOP goverenor of CT appoints a Rep. to Lieberman's seat. That way they keep control of the Senate until a new election....

It has been announced that the former head of the CIA will replace him.
Thanks."Acting" Director.
CNN has officially called Montana for the Democrat, Tester.

WEbb? Last I heard, he was ahead by 8,000 votes. And that it will take 4 days to count all the votes.
Any news?
DR
It will take a couple of days at least...and it won't be formally certified regardless of the outcome till later in September. However, tight as the margin is, 8K votes would be difficult to reverse (though not impossible).

There are two districts where he is expected to win and one where he is not. So it is still close. But I think he will win.I heard that the uncounted votes in Virginia are in areas where Webb is strong.
