Bush Owes Troops an Apology

No, but what is funny is that Bush was too stupid to understand the joke about him being stupid, thus proving he IS stupid.

John Parry is cutting.

I guess that's why Kerry issued an appology that even few democrats called for.

A graceful person apologizes sincirely and fully for any hurt they may have caused even then when they're pretty sure the offended party is being an idiot. Contrast Kerry with Limbaugh on that one.

LOL. Good one, Grammy. But of course, there is a slight typo again. You should have "sawed" it, indicating that you intended to sever a limb with a saw rather than skewer with a sword.

Dang it, I'm not good with puns :(

Ok, he posted an entire page with out any comments of his own and then a link to it. If it's not against the forum rules then it is just poor forum etiquette.

I think I cut it at the earliest possible moment, it did have a substantial introduction. You would have read the entire article before commenting anyway, right?

I had hoped that Bush would apologize for making all those stupid jokes about not finding Weapons of Mass Destruction at that dinner party a while back.

But of course, it is always all right with Republicans if the head Republican make such jokes since he is never wrong about anything.

I don't know if Bush owes the troops an apology, but John Boehner does. The problems we are having in Iraq? It's the generals' fault.

http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/11/01/shifting.blame/index.html
In an interview Wednesday on CNN, Boehner said, "Let's not blame what's happening in Iraq on Rumsfeld."

CNN's Wolf Blitzer replied, "But he's in charge of the military."

"The fact is, the generals on the ground are in charge, and he works closely with them and the president," Boehner, an Ohio Republican, said.

Yeah, if those dang generals knew what they were doing, this would be going SO much better...

It's important to notice here, that Boehner is admitting there are problems in Iraq. He's not denying that things are not peachy. So the only question is who is to blame. Blitzer suggests the Sec of Defense.

"As you know, you have to go to war with the Army you have, not the Army you want." - Donald Rumsfeld

Nothing insulting there, either. ;)

Why is okay for other people to make fun of Bush, but when he makes fun of himself, that is a horrible thing? And if there is something wrong with Bush making fun of himself, why would he need to apologize to anyone but himself?

In who's head do you recomend?
Whose.

You're right about something at last. It wasn't insulting.

Every commander always wants a better army than he has available -- or maybe he's just a US standard issue liberal who wouldn't know what an army was for if he had one; then I guess he or she wouldn't care. :)

You are correct, it really isn't insulting. But when it is claimed, to the level we have seen this week, that what Kerry said was insulting, it is a very appropriate tu quoque to ask, "And this isn't?"

Right, right. :)
