U.S. Senate candidate Michael S. Steele got an endorsement last week from a guy named Mfume . It came at a rally of Democrats for Steele in Baltimore, where Steele supporters waved signs and grabbed bumper stickers that said "Steele Democrat."

Seems Steele is trying to confuse voters by circulating bumper stickers that he is a Democrat. Wise choice this political season for a Republican to get voters in a blue state to think he is a Democrat. LOL

I usually disagree with your politics. But I agree with you here. I did see Steele on the TV interview yesterday with Tim Russert, who called him on his scheme to fake being a Dem. His response was so phoney. If I were the guy I'd say, "Look, I have some moderate policies and I want African Americans and other folks who usually vote for Democrats to take a look at my platform. Maybe I went overboard on this scheme."

I would respect that. But he was wormy, and I was disappointed by his rap.

Yeah, and how he tries to pass of his endorsement by Mfume letting people think it was the former NAACP head Mfume is pretty rank IMO.

You don't agree with my politics? I bet you are the only one. :)

Isn't claiming you are from a different party some sort of a crime?

Although I can't be certain, I'm pretty sure we have laws against this kind of stunt in Portugal.

On the other hand, the only guy I remember personalizing a political race lost it, badly. US campaigns are quite alien to me... but always fun to watch :D

The gimmic here in the States is that, say a distasteful bumper sticker or misleading pamphlet is distributed by a candidate who is then criticized for it. The candidate will almost always say, "That item came from one of my many campaign headquarters without my permission. I will put a stop to it."

I'm getting deluged, as most of the other people living in the states are, with tons of and tons of political ads. I'm amazed at all the independents that are running.

Wait a second, I see the word "republican" in tiny font, in a number of lines for about 2 seconds at ad 's end.

Charlie (vote for me and I'll set you free) Monoxide
