Breaking news, small plane hit NY building

I just got to work so this is the first I heard of it (it was too late to make the morning papers here, and I don't watch the morning news).

This is pretty sad... let's just hope it was an accident, although that will be of little consolation to the families and friends of the victims.

It was interesting to read the conflicting reports over fixed-wing / helicopter. Hopefully the troofers will learn something, at least.

i beleive their train of though will be

fixed-wing -> helicopter -> "black" helicopter -> conspiracy

They have no desire to learn anything. Christophera, Killtown, 'TruthSeeker'1234, 'Skeptic'4Sure and who not... gave no evidence of any desire to learn anything.
 
I guess nothing mechanical has ever failed in Oneonta.

logistically...this pilot could have flown ANYWHERE besides that building...for him to not know he was heading straight for that building I find hard to believe. he could have dumped into the East River.

I've just been reading the thread at LC, and I think you guys are right about them not learning a thing. I wish I had a sock on standby. Some of these comments are extremely callous.

Now, this is "Breaking News". Not John Mark Carr getting served beer on the airplane. Not the latest email from Foley. Not rumors of a picture of TomKat's baby.

Unfortunately, the TV news media has overused that banner so much in the last few months that it has lost all its true import.
 
Be sure to post what else they are saying over on LC about this.

I was banned from that place ages ago after only 3 posts :(
 
I'm listening to CNN Headline news on my XM radio at work.

It's driving me crazy. They are not reporting news. They are sitting at their desks running their mouths, making endless baseless speculation based on unconfirmed reports.

eta: now they are reporting "we can not confirm, but...". And now they are speculating about a parachute deplying. Not because of any reports, but because it could happen. Oye.

I'd be willing to bet that I'm not the only fireman in the world embarrased by the fact that the FDNY was unable to touch this fire.

Why didn't the FDNY even TRY to put out the fires in tower 7 ?
Because it damn sure isn't as if they couldn't do it!

In all seriousness, when I saw this on the BBC website about 20min ago, I knew the CTs would go nuts...which is why I cam here.
I hope for the best for anyone involved in todays accident.

It may be a "simple" question, but I can't answer it because I'm not a firefighter, I wasn't at any of those fires, and I don't know my physics as well as I should.

It would be nice if everyone could do that. You know: refuse to speculate on that about which you know absolutely jack chit?
