Breaking news, small plane hit NY building

My scanner is squaking alot. The NYPD has designated this a level3 emergency. No idea what that means. Staging point at 73rd and 1st ave. Southbound FDR is closed. T

That was my first thought. I am sad that there are already casualties, but it will assuredly be much much smaller than 9/11. But it will have major aftershocks within NYers who were traumatized 5 years ago. Hell, I felt my heart leap to my throat just reading the thread title, and I had no real losses to speak of back then.
 
3:26 est FAA, according to CNN, confirms fixed wing, not helicopter. First heard small plane, then helicopter, back to small plane. Conspiracy?

The FDNY is hitting some of the apartments with water. The elevators must have been working. They got up there fast.
