Nor would I expect one.

He is quoted on some of her book jackets, though.

On Adventures of a Psychic, he is quoted as saying:

"PSYCHIC, MEDIUM, CLAIRVOYANT, CHANNEL - these are all words used to describe Sylvia Browne's unique power. I would prefer to use the word LOVE because that's what Sylvia Browne represents to me - love of the gift God gave her, and love of spirituality in the messages she gives us all. So, if that is an accurate quote, he either really believes in her abilities, or he is blatantly lying.

I found out today the identity of one family who will be going to the Montel Show on Wednesday. It's one of our cases, too. Unfortunately, my family contact is a friend of the missing woman, and as she does not live close to the family, she is not sure if the segement is going to be with SB.

Sadly, this family believes in psychics, and so, apparently, does the so-called journalists who published the article about this young woman.

I'm sure we'll be able to find out at some point before it airs if this is a SB segment.

I sent the inquiry emails we discussed earlier.

I think I read on this very site that there was water under the WTC and that some firemen drowned.

Kc, are you perhaps thinking of the thread 9/11 Drownings? - which I started to see if anyone had heard of such a thing?

If you can find anything on the subject - whether on this board or elsewhere - I would be interested in reading it.
 
Since I posted a page on my blog about www.stopsylviabrowne.com, I noticed that my web traffic had increased a bit. (Hey I only get about 10 hits a day so an increase is obvious)
Looking at the referrals I saw that the new traffic was getting to me via searches such as "Sylvia Browne's contact details" and "email for Sylvia Browne"

I figured if people were finding my blog looking for Sylvia Browne's details I better give them something. So a new entry entitled "Sylvia Browne's contact details" gives some info on how slimy she is as well as links to Rob's site and some others. I do eventually give Sylvia's contact details, but they are not hot links. the reader has to copy and paste the address if they are still keen.

I have less time to devote to it at the moment than I would like, as I am in the middle of moving. But I intend for there to be at least a bare-bones version up and running by the end of September.

Jumping in a bit late here (haven't posted in forever). I love the idea of this site. I'm appalled when I see clips of SB not only feeding a line of crap to grieving people, but actually being bitchy with them when they don't "see" things her way. The clip of her with the woman whose fireman boyfriend died on 9-11 is priceless. Just catch the look on that woman's face when Sylvia talks about him being in water.

Couple of things I thought I'd add, speaking as a journalist-turned-web-developer:

Be careful of trying to manipulate Google. They're getting ever more vigilant about anything that they view as SE spamming, and can drop your site from their index like a ton of bricks. Getting thousands of back links in a week could trip their "spam" meter--especially if your site has virtually no content. And once they drop you, they're merciless. Also, the site should be a bit further along before everyone makes serious attempts to promote it. You're going to get tons of back links (I'll be happy to give you a couple), but you need a real site when people get there, if you want them to come back and to link to you.

If you stick to purely factual material, you have a defense for libel. But just because they haven't a snowball's chance of winning doesn't mean someone cannot try suing you--and you still have to pony up for a lawyer, etc. Media outlets get nuisance suits constantly, which is why the major media keep lawyers on retainer.

Also be very careful about copyright. You can take bits of this and that under fair use, but what is fair use and what is not is not always well defined, and sometimes decided by a court. (I certainly wouldn't use YouTube as a guide, since I'm betting a good share of the stuff on there is being distributed in violation of copyright law.) It's always better to ask permission. I'm not sure if merely linking to, say, a YouTube video could make you liable--you'd need a lawyer to answer that.

In short, you're best off getting the advice of a lawyer before going after someone like Sylvia, who has money and strikes me as the sort who wouldn't hesitate to fight back.

I am been shooting for getting at least a bare-bones version up by the end of September, but September has turned out to be a very busy month for me, both at home and at work, so that might get pushed back to October 15th, though I hope not.

It will definitely be a site which will grow organically, as there is a LOT of information out there to comb through and analyze. Part of the challenge of the StopKaz site was finding information about her. With Sylvia, it is the opposite problem - so much information (books, audio, video, etc) that it will be a challenge to comb through it all, analyze it and do it right.

I will definitely keep you all posted here as to the timetable as it evolves.
